Great controller. Just what the son ordered. He wanted a cord and he found what he needed here. He says it is great and functional for his needs. He loves it and all it does. He says he would recommend this remote to anyone.

So far so good. Only had for a weekend so far, but played about 5 hrs. I'm a life time PS gamer. But switch to PC and absolutely hate Xbox controllers. Been searching for a good PS style version that I don't have to remap anything. This is my 3rd option I've tried and as of now it's my favorite. The style is a bit different closer to a PS3 hybrid style controller but still better than Xbox style. Control feels sturdy and not cheap plastic.

As someone who prefers the PS5 controller, I ordered this in hopes it would be similar. The controller feels great! Wish it was wireless, that’s the only way it could be better. Highly recommend.

Want to play Xbox/PC games with your thumbs at the same angle away from your hand while never having to worry about controller drift ever again? The usb-c connector is deep set, so many of your chonkier cables will not seat, so don’t fubar the wire it comes with, as I’m guessing you don’t want to play the “will it seat?” game with every cable in the junk drawer. Ain’t nobody got time for that!Let’s just say that I didn’t look too hard for extra cables from 8bitdo directly, which may or may not be a result of too many distracting nifty retro-vibe products to get far into support menus. Not that I broke my own wire, or anything….Why would you think this rant is anything but coincidence? Even if I did, it for sure wasn’t user error and it totally was some sort of indescribable, unrepeatable, and absolutely unverifiable manufacturing issue! Yeah! Yeah, that’s what happened, no wait, this is all hypothetical ofcSo take care of that usb-a side, you never know when the unverifiable will happen at the exact moment when you might/might not have put the usb-a in the wrong way. For the third time.

I like symmetrical analog sticks and the DualSense is my favorite controller, so that is what initially attracted me to this controller. The Xbox layout is much more supported on pc games (the PlayStation controller mostly works but not for all games for some stupid reason). This controller fits nicely in my hand and the triggers and buttons feel good. I like the triggers on the Xbox series controllers the best, but these aren’t bad and certainly don’t hold back my play. The handles could use more texture/grip, not something I ever really considered until handling the DualSense and series controllers but after using those it’s hard to go back. The two programmable back paddles are a nice touch and something I never really knew I wanted but now really hate going to controllers without them. I know a lot of the “pro” controllers have 4 back paddles but two seems to be plenty and mostly I have just one button mapped to them. Overall it is pretty good but they could improve on the grip and triggers. I would say it feels most closely to a DualShock 4 controller.

In their website they say that you have elite control over every part of your controller. You don’t.Even though you can map other buttons as the profile button, you can’t map the profile button to something else.

I mostly play games sitting at my desktop and enjoy a good controller with a low amount of lag, so a wired solution like this 8Bitdo was kind of a no-brainer. It is light, has an understated design that follows some of their other products, packs a clear rumble and has a few good extras that I found useful. In particular I’m a huge fan of the input paddle/buttons on the back of the controller. Downloadable software lets you map these however you like provided they are echoing other Xinput keys. In my case I set them as the L3 & R3 stick buttons since I dislike pressing them while moving the joysticks. Remapping keys to the rear of the controller means you can have functions like running and jumping performed at the same time without having to move fingers across the right key array. The editing software syncs your settings to the controller and advised me to press the right option button (glowing white in my review photo) and I can confirm that my edits persist after unplugging the controller and plugging it in again.I’m not picky when it comes to layouts and brands so I was eager to see what a more pro-like controller from the company felt like, and I’m genuinely impressed. I like the body of an Xbox con but the stick and trigger feel of a PS4 and this feels very much like a solid synthesis of the two approaches. I believe this is particular con might be modeled off of their Nintendo-like offerings, but as I have no experience with their modern consoles I only found the SNES style look somewhat familiar, but welcome.I would happily recommend this controller to anyone looking for a wired input pad, I think it goes the extra mile in terms of quality and I’m happy to see the brand strike out and make a space for themselves with legitimate options.

⚠ There's no indication the value adds in the box will be continued indefinitely (nor that they won't), so don't let that sway your decision without double checking. However, as they are part of the proposition at the moment, I will be including them in my evaluation.=This controller is an interesting design given how it departs from the OEM XB1 controller. I think the folks who will enjoy it most would be those who can deal with level thumbsticks. For me, that was a bit of a downer with this controller. I'm far too used to offset thumbsticks to use it with the fluidity of motion I'd like. Outside of my habits though, I can't contest this is a neato piece of kit.The actual craftsmanship on this is very good - 8Bitdo has made controllers for a long time, and it goes to show they mostly have the art perfected. That comes with one exception: I will say that the DPAD was a distinctly more disappointing aspect of the controller. It's rather wobbly and unlike the OEM controller, has a very muddy click. The form factor has a wider shoulder than the XB1 controller, and possibly a wider footprint overall, though not by much. I will say that is one point of deviation where it's actually more comfortable than the OG controller. If the thumbsticks were offset, I think I could genuinely say I like the shape of this one more than the XB1 controller. At least on Windows, the compatibility is quite broad, though its specialty features like game volume control as detailed in the instructions are seemingly non-functional (possibly because the XBOX features on Win10+ come with analogues for these functions, just differently mapped controls). I think this would be more useful directly with XBOX as well, given its ability to switch buttons (this is definitely distinctive!) per user desire among all the major buttons. Some neat value adds, it appears to have (at least as of my order):- Comes with a code for XBOX game pass ultimate, which as of writing is $18.99/mo, so that's kind of cool. First time registrations only though, it seems. I don't use this sort of thing, so YMMV if you already have an account.- Comes with some thumbstick covers that raise the height a little and thus increase sensitivity of movement, too- Cable is long, and thick. Very very nice.Overall, very nice controller - but I think one would enjoy it more if they either have a pre-existing love for level thumbsticks, or are coming from Playstation. Quality is great overall, and all buttons do work - DPAD is a bit muddy, though. 4/5========================== Overall View: [😊] ==== - 😦🙁😐😊😀 + ==========================Media Used: Some pictures showing the thumbstick caps and comparing for size/format with an original XB1 controller from MS - Bottom is 8BitDo, top is MS XB1 controller.

X-box users will not like the L-joystick and D-pad being switched - I don't (-2 stars).Any game that makes use of the Menu and start buttons will make you aware of the awkward placement since you have to reach over/across the joysticks to hit either of them. (-1 star)Button swapping and back button programming is simple and easy... unless you are trying to program the L-backbutton to be the L-Joystick button, your thumb is basically covering the program button when you try this. The hall effect joysticks seem to work well...but everything does when it's new...I'll try to update in a few months

Hate the layout of the Xbox controller. Needed something similar to the ps5 controller as far as the analog stick placement goes. Works perfect. Will definitely recommend
