It's a bastard file. I have a set of Vallorbe files I use for finer work. This is no Vallorbe, but it doesn't need to be...it's meant for rough work anyway. $9-ish is probably fine for this level of quality. Taking off a star because of the misleading description. This file has nothing to do with Nicholson files. They're just trying to use the Nicholson brand to move product.

I like this small file a lot. It's compact at 8 in. long. It has sharp teeth that cut well and leave a fairly smooth surface. I repaired an appliance that had a damaged hinge rod and this file smoothed out the problem quickly and easily. I would recommend it highly.
