I am using it as a sub panel in my shop and will work fine. Using a sub panel reduces some wire lengths and gives you some flexibility.

Although we use this box for a purpose other than intended, its a good versatile box that serves the purpose we use it for. Lots of knockouts and quality build.

Well made. Has neutral bar but Had to add separate ground bar. So if you need one, got mine at Lowe's for couple bucks.

When the neutral bar was removed to mount the box the plastic neutral mount fell a part in several pieces. A replacement neutral bar mount/ neutral bar assembly is not available so I have to buy a new box. The plastic parts in this box are junk. I am going to buy a Siemens box to replace it.
