Lock Picking Lawyer said get this one, good enough for me. Works well, feels tough. I'm sure a cutoff wheel in an angle grinder could get thru it eventually, but you can't do much about that except park next to a more expensive bike.

FYI does NOT come with its own mount! Had to buy this mount which works super well so far!: ABUS Zubehör USH 540, 18576 MountDiamond rated (highest) by the British Bike lock review site (too lazy to google name), has a great high quality hand feel and substantial, very long and fits well with my ebike with 2.4" wide tires - able to go through frame -wheel-frame then lock it around a pole with ease! Less then five 5lbs, saves my back vs the form 10lb Krypto chain that I used - no comparison whatsoever. Thank you ABUS!!!;)PS for some reason the lock feels REALLY NICE to open and close, a very substantial high quality sophisticated high tech clicky kinda experience:)

It seems sturdy and is not huge! I’m sure it will deter, but you never know what will completely protect. At least it’s small enough to carry and doesn’t weigh more than the bike.

Without going crazy, this is one of the best U locks you can get under $250. It is well designed, well thought out, with a very nice locking system. It is Gold to Diamond rated, based on whosever review you read for Sold Secure ratings and would probably discourage any would be thief with lock cutters. Is it totally resistant to angle grinders - no, but they will have to work a bit to get the lock off. My only issue, if you want to call it that, is the overall length. At almost 12 inches, it is a bit long in some cases for securing the bike, but other times works well. Just depends on what you are securing the bike to: post, rack, bench, other bike, etc. This lock will give you peace of mind, knowing that no lock is 100% guaranteed to stop a thief, but if your lock is better than others - well, that’s in your favor at a rack of bikes.

Wanted one of these for a long time for my expensive e-bike...worth every penny. Very tough. Great reach, keys work well...have a Kryptonite and I hate the keys.Good coatings to prevent scratchs.

This bike lock is worth the money if you want good security for your bike. It's easy to unlock/lock and extremely tough. The only way someone can get through this is if they use a very high powered saw.

Like: easy to use, security.Dislike: no included lock holder.I ride my bike everywhere and i don't want to call an uber bc my bike is gone. This is probably overkill bc my kids throw down their bikes on the sidewalk and not locking at all. I feel better because theyll steal the other bikes before whipping out the grinder to steal mine.

Works as described. A little hard to write anything but a five-star or one-star review for something like this - either it works and your bike doesn't get stolen, or it doesn't, and your bike gets stolen. My experience was the former. Commuted to work and back on my road bike, value upwards of $2,000, definitely an attractive piece for a bike thief, in Sarasota FL, a place anybody from the area can tell you is a hotbed of bike theft. Never had any problems. Comes with a mount to attach to your frame, which fastens down nicely and works as it should. Absolutely no complaints here.

Summary, an excellent strong lock and you will not find anything stronger.This model is p/n 111792 which is the 300 mm reach model without any bike bracket/holder.There are 6 models manufactured by Abus, some with a 230 mm reach and there are two types of bike bracket/holder, the EaZyKF and the USH540 . Thus in the 300 mm reach models you can have without a bike bracket/holder OR with either of two bike bracket/holders. The same with the 230 mm reach models.EaZy KF – Bracket with comfortable one hand operation for easy mounting on round frames with a diameter of 28-36 mmUSH 540 – Universal bracket with easy mounting on round frames with a diameter of 15-35 mmThis review, and the one I purchased, being the 300 mm reach without a bike bracket holder.IMPORTANT to note that this is the latest model 540, there was also a model 54, but if you check the forums and reviews this 54 model had problems with some cosmetic plastic pieces that could be knocked off if you dropped the lock.For the best security you cannot better this lock, and it is rated Gold Secure with a security level of 15 which is the highest that I have seen for any bike lock.Made and designed in Germany by one of the biggest manufacturer of locks.Comes with two keys, one of which has a LED light. Also supplied is a ‘Code Card’ which would enable the owner to order more keys or replace one upon proof of ownership or purchase.On the negative comments I can only list its weight and cost, but then you buy a bike lock like this for the best security. You will not get ultimate security and strength without weight and this of course must cost more. Frankly my bike is worth the expense, plus the inconvenience of making an insurance claim, getting paid and then trying to buy another bike….. Better to lock it securely with a lock like this.
