Item as described, yes you have to modify and cut a bit. They tell you in the item description and in the instructions. If you can't cut it or modify, just walk away. This isn't for you.

This is THE ONLY PRODUCT that retains the factory radio position. As other reviewers have noted, you either need a 5" deep head unit, or you will need to cut the black plastic cubby out of the subdash to allow your 6-6.5" unit to fit. I used a dremel tool with a cutoff wheel and it took about 2 minutes total. No wires to worry about cutting it anything. This does appear to take out some of the holes that help hold the factory radio, if you were ever going to reinstall that, but why would you?I installed a Me wood DDX9707s in a cadillac escalade esv. The kit is solid and holds the radio well. The fit, even with the subdash cut, leaves VERY LITTLE ROOM for cable management. I say this because it's almost unusable with the factory harness and a maestro, but after 15 minutes I made it work.Unlike the other in-depth review where he cut the usb port holes in the dash face, I used the Usb male to usb female listed above and installed it in my cigarettes lighter location. If I had to do it all over again, I'd still buy this unit. Keeping the radio up high is as much about safety as it is looks.Best of luck with your install. It will be tough and rewarding.

You would have to make some additional holes and adjustment with a drill. But otherwise holds the aftermarket stereo fits looks good.

Fits in 2010 Cadillac escaladeUsed USB extension: and HDMI extension: The back has 4 even markings for the holes, drill and then dremel with sander attachment to round them out. You will need to sand off the top of the extension plugs (as shown) to allow the back nut to fit. This setup leaves enough room for a to sit in the space left on the shelf with both HDMI and USB plugged in, and full wireless mirroring of all phone functions (navigation, youtube, apps, games ect) on the radio. This way, you don't have to leave it in the dash. You can take the adapter out and put away when not in use, or bring in to use on the TV at home.Pioneer 4200 NEX , the only mod needed is to cut out the back plastic backing of the radio compartment. Keep in mind this holds the holes for the factory radio clips, once cut, you would need to 3d print/brace in a new solution to refit the factory radio. Extremely tight fit (spent more time on cable management than the soldering of the harness) But it does fit, without cutting the face of this dash to fit the unit. The shelf has room for the brake controller, and is a much better spot. Can probably cut out the back even more and slide it back into the unit a little more, though the wiring behind it is pretty tight, so I left it.

I only gave it 4 stars because I had to take it to the audio shop so they can cut it open more for my radio to fit through it

This bezel requires major sub-dash modifications to fit most head units. A shallow depth head unit that is less than five inches may fit without modifications to the vehicle. I returned the one I purchased because my head unit was slightly over six inches deep. I currently have the Metra 99-2007 bezel and I get too much glare off the seats so I tried the GMK265 to change the angle of the head unit. I might have to try the Scosche dash kit since it has great reviews.
