fantastic bits. Drills fast, stays sharp a long time and they go through metal like butter! I use these with cutting out and can drill a half inch hole in 1/4" High strength Steel in under 30 seconds! These are amazing!

It does sharp and smooth cuts. Soft cuts, which means it does not fly around lot of particles. Also, accurate cuts too.

Thankfully we live in the age where you can get a bit of this quality for less than $65 finally. These bits are incredibly sharp, and will do a wonderful job stepping a hole size up.I put the quality of these bits up there with the Milwaukee, Dewalt, Greenlee, and other big box store brands. They don't instantly round over like the HF cheapo ones, and they resist aluminum caking if used at a moderate speed!I'm super happy with both the price, and the performance.

It is definitlely built well, with the exception of the point, which is crap. It doesn't want to bite into anything, just wanders around. The step part is good because it has 4 cutting edges, most have 2. It's not good because the steps are spaced too closely. You won't be able to really use it on anything but sheet metal because otherwise one side of your hole will be bigger than the other. Nobody needs 1/32 steps in sheet metal, much better to have 1/16 and double the spacing. Then you could use it on plastics and aluminum too.

I use this type of step bit for many things with my job. Enlarging knockout holes, holes in under cabinet light housings, etc. Once this bit gets started it works great, the bad part is it really needs a pilot hole. The center wanders without at least taking a punch and setting a divot. The cutting edges work quickly and it expels metal as it drills nicely. It just doesn't have a center point that keeps it from wandering.

I needed this for wood and plastic materials. This thing is a beast and very sharp, I love the definitive steps. Easy to use, definitely a great value. I am not sure yet on the metal use durability but for my required functions it works great.

If you’re in the market for a step drill bit that’ll take a beating and keep on working, this Four Spiral Flute Step Drill Bit is the real deal. I’ve used plenty of bits over the years, and this one delivers where it counts—durability, precision, and value.Right out of the gate, this thing feels like quality. It’s made with M35 cobalt steel and has a TiAlN coating, that doesn't mean much to me but it feels nice in the hand and still looked new after a dozen or so holes. I used it to drill through a steel 50-gallon drum, and it didn’t even flinch. The cuts were smooth, clean, and fast—no wobbling, no struggling. The four-flute spiral design is a step up from the usual 2 flute cheapos I'm used to. It clears chips out fast, which means no overheating or jamming up mid-job. The steps are gradual, so it gives you control without tearing through your material too quickly. Whether you’re working with steel, aluminum, wood, or even plastic, this bit handles it like a champ. Cut nicely into some PVC Pipe too.The 1/4-inch hex shank is a nice touch, too. I had it in my drill for most of the work, but when I needed to get into a tighter spot, it slipped right into my impact driver, no problem. That versatility is a lifesaver when space is tight, or you need a bit that can do double duty.A quick heads-up: If you’re running it hard, throw some cutting oil on there or spray it down with water to keep it cool. It’s tough, but like any bit, you’ll get a lot more life out of it if you don’t overheat it. Most of y'all know this, but I figured I'd toss it in.For the price, you really can’t go wrong. It’s cheaper than what you’ll find at most hardware stores, but it doesn’t feel like a budget tool. This thing punches well above its weight and holds up to real use.If you’re tired of burning through bits that don’t hold up, give this one a shot. It’s tough, gets the job done, and won’t leave you regretting your purchase.
