I bought this to use for two bikes I want to travel with. I’m really glad I did a trial setup when I first got it as it took some time to get to know where the straps would go on my car and tighten them accordingly. Upon subsequent uses setup takes only a few minutes and with the straps in the right position is very secure and the padding ensures it’s gentle on your car’s trunk lid! It is also very sturdy and able to handle the weight of our two steel framed cruiser bikes. Very pleased with the product overall.

We bought this product to fit onto an SUV as well as a small VW. Once you figure it out, it adjusts easily to both vehicles. The adapter mechanism for the ladies bike is a wonderful and handy 'tool'! We can strap the unit onto the car, both bikes, snug it all up and be away within 3 minutes! I would recommend this product in a heartbeat!

I have a Ford Fusion and this rack is about the only one that works with my car that isn’t super expensive. It is sturdy and well made. I read reviews before purchasing and a lot of them were saying to watch your fingers when assembling. They aren’t kidding. I could see how easily fingers could be pinched in a bad way.Once assembled this rack will have to stay assembled which makes storing difficult. It was not easy to figure out where the hooks should go, I have a short trunk lid but a long back window, and a rear spoiler. I placed the 2 bottom hooks in my trunk and closed it. I put the 2 top ones between the window and the trunk edge and the 2 side hooks are basically wherever I could get them. Putting it on the car, and adding one bike to it takes about 10-15 minutes. My bike stayed on it for the shorter drive, I haven’t taken it on a long drive. When I had 2 bikes on it a pedal hit my car so I wrapped the pedal with a towel and secured it with blue painters tape. I used what I could find in the garage. When driving the bikes were swinging back and forth (not side to side) and I know if the pedal wasn’t wrapped in some way it would have scratched my car. I also felt very nervous the metal hooks were going to damage my car once the 2 bikes were on it so we didn’t go far with them. I ended up buying the hooks covers but then the weather changed to very hot so we were only riding around the trails close to our house. All in all it is a good rack, inexpensive and holds the bikes well. I think if I didn’t like my car so much I would love this bike rack. When I use it again I will have to modify it slightly with towels and covers so I can feel like my car is safe from scratches.

I was skeptical about this carrier but decided to pull the trigger for our beach trip. I read a lot of reviews and watched a couple videos prior to installation. I did end up taking another reviewers advice and wrapped the metal ends with electrical tape. This seems to give the ends more grip and they did not move at all. I also did a practice install a day ahead of time to figure out how it all works. If you look at my photos I installed it on the back of our Buick Enclave. I did secure the bikes to the rack with a couple bungee cords just for my peace of mind. I had Velcro ties on the wheels to keep them from spinning and to keep the bike forks straight. Only issue I had was getting the mongoose bike with the rotor and routed break cabling to sit correctly in the holder. That was not an issue with the carrier but the bike design and how they routed the break lines under the center bar.I tightened everything down, put the bikes on, tightened everything again. Rode around the block and came back and made sure everything was good. Had no issues with the unit slipping or becoming loose. Had no damage to the car. The bikes were on tight, they never moved. The trip was 4 hours on every type of road from 2 lane bumpy back country to 70mph interstate highway. Never had an issue. Stopped about 1/2 way to stretch my legs and checked the bikes, still rock solid.I have no hesitation to recommend this carrier. Just do your homework and take some time before you leave to figure out the best way to install this on your vehicle and you’ll be fine.Updated 2023:We've made 4 trips with this carrier for over 1100+ miles and it's still going strong. No issues and no damage, it continues to work perfectly.

Excellent product. Easy to to attach to car.I added one bicycle and did a test drive around the neighborhood with no issues. Then I went for a 20KM drive on the highway with twists & turns, a construction zone and plenty of bumps.I'm happy to report that upon stopping, the rack was still securely attached with no loosening of the straps nor movement of the hooks. I did wrap the hooks with gaffers tape to prevent slippage and or scratching. The bicycle remained secure during the trip with no loosening of its straps either.I am very happy with this economical bike rack and would highly recommend this product.*****

We have a Hyundai Sonata sedan and two adult bicycles. One bike has a step-thru frame and basket. This rack worked well for us to transport our bikes on a camping trip three hours drive away. We have driven on poorly maintained city streets, highway, and country roads. After we have loaded and unloaded this rack three or four times we have found some best practices for our bikes.I would still recommend taping the hooks that grasp the car trunk to prevent paint scratches. I would also recommend using velcro and maybe some old t-shirts to keep the bikes from scratching eachother or the car in places they might come in contact. This might be paranoid on our part but with these additions we felt everything was very secure. This rack works. It's a good price. You don't need to install a hitch receiver. Great for occasional/casual use, but I could see wanting a model with tilt that connects to the hitch if you're needing to use it very often.

The initial setup took about ten minutes (I'm not the strongest person, so pushing the pin into place took a bit of effort), but instructions were easy to follow. I use it with my Electra Townie, and it fits perfectly. I wrap the extra length of the straps between the bike frame and rack to make sure it doesn't sway or bump into the rack while I drive. It holds strong at highway speeds (I've tried up to ~65mph so far).

i got this rack for my ebike and always mount the bike without the battery on since the battery is super heavy. The rack is super stabel as I have used it on my acura TLX to ride for more than 400 miles in a stretch. The rack is easy to mount on an off the car and can be done in 2 mins. Once the bike is on feels stable. The only real negative i have about this rack is that, it only fits on bike and its not cause the bike occupies all the space but the 1 bike mount is amost on the sedans trunk and i dont see how I can possibly fit a bike there. But that might be specific to my car(acura tlx) trunk or sedans.

These products are made from very high-quality materials and are easy to use especially for the price! The only “easy to assemble” part that I had and still have a harder time with is being able to assemble and dissemble the two silver chrome bars on the sides. They take a lot of strength that I don’t always feel I have and precaution because I did pinch my fingers a little when I first pulled and snapped the bars into place. Thankfully, my fingers were not clamped all the way, but I can’t imagine what the excruciating pains or phalangeal damages would be like if my fingers ever get accidentally clamped while reassembling or disassembling those chrome bars one day. Those chrome bars need to be snapped into place to hold the rack’s frames in place, but I can’t fold the rack to make it fit into smaller storage spaces unless I pull those chrome bars back out which feels like a highly potential hazard each time. The task got easier as I used the bike rack more often, but those chrome bars were extremely difficult to handle the first couple of times for me. Overall, I still think I will got my money’s worth!
