Exactly what I was looking for!I have a keypad door lock that runs on 4 AA batteries and I wanted to replace them with a constant power supply, due to short battery life, and poor performance with less-than-fresh batteries. This, coupled with a 6Volt power supply and a 4AA battery holder was the answer. I took the original battery shuttle from lock and soldered leads to the last battery connections, and ran that wire to the either side of the C terminals of the relay. Then I ran the 4 cell AA holder to + and - of the NC terminals, and the + and - of the 6 Volt power supply to the NO terminals. I also made jumpers to connects those terminals to the POS and NEG terminals to power the relay, and set the little switch to the 6V setting. Now, when the power supply is on the power feeds through to the battery shuttle and gives the lock power, if the power is to go out or the power supply fails then the relay kicks to its default state and the power comes from the 4 batteries in the AA holder. I have the relay and all the connections in a single gang plastic box screwed to the wall and the battery holder attached to the top for easy access. This setup is in a garage where looks are not very important, and it works well in this setting, it would be extremely difficult to hide this setup inside of a home.I wish there was a little project box for this relay, with a means of mounting it, as it is I just have it shoved in the box, which, while it works, and is compact, isn't exactly pretty on the inside.

wired this up to our keyless fob system. it is only a 2 doors board, i have 4 doors to it.. i use these for the extra doors and so not to tax the board's relay so much.. works awesome

Some of the more exotic projects work better with more versatility. This was one of those times where I needed a test to establish abase line with human devices..

I needed a simple, pre-made solution for a dpdt relay and purchased several of these; perfect....and they come from Brooklyn; whats not to like!
