I have used this stand on multiple trips since purchasing (train, plane, conference rooms). After purchasing a similar stand made of plastic last year, I had reservations about the design. The quality of this stand exceeded my expectations and the folding design makes it ideal for travel. The magnet is strong enough to hold my iPhone Pro Max during flight turbulence, rough train rides, etc. So far, the design of the clamp has worked in every situation.

It works well, just a design flaw where there is no lever button to open the clamp. It is hard to open and need fingers strength.

But still good enough for five stars, I guess. This phone clamp could be used for all sort of things, but I bought it for use on a plane, where I might not want to hold my phone for hours on end while I watch the in-flight entertainment on my own device. The distal end of the clamp is a bit thicker than I would personally like, as it doesn't fit through the gaps of things after they are shut - like tray tables in their upright and stowed position - without some bending of that tray table. However, it's small and light-weight enough to disappear into my carry-on bag of flight essentials, so that's good. It's somewhat difficult to extend the distal end of the clamp out and away from the opposing clamp, because you have to really tug on it with one hand, while holding the rest of device with the other hand, and it might not be easy to get that tugging hand in position around the backside/underside of whatever you're clamping this thing to. This makes using the clamp a bit tricky, but you can figure it out. This clamp held my phone steady during the flight, with no vibration or swinging around. Recommended.

As a seasoned, but often irritable, traveler (I average 3 flights a month), one of my greatest gripes during the airflight portion of my trip, is the lack of great tools to prop up my phone so I can read a book or watch a pre-recorded movie. The magnetic circle that holds your phone has solid grip-ability, and if you happen to have a non-MagSafe phone, the package includes two magnetic rings you can attach to your phone to make that pairing work.

This is perfect! It even holds up our iPad with ease while it’s in a heavy duty case. I took a video but it won’t work. But take my word this thing is awesome! It comes with 2 magnets to put on your own items if it doesn’t have MagSafe which is what I did on the iPad. I added the 2nd one to my steam deck. It also works great. 10/10!

Great compact solution for filming with an iphone, has a quarter thread at the bottom for mounting on tripods. Metal and hinges feels sturdy. Has rubber guards to protect your phone and surfaces you clamp it onto.

The magnitec suction power of this holder is excellent—I used it on a flight to Tokyo, attaching it to the tray table to watch videos, and it didn’t budge the entire time. However, the spring on the clamp is very tight, making it difficult to open by hand. Without a good grip point, there’s a risk of pinching your fingers during installation.
