These are perfect for camping on snow, sand, or loose gravel. Just about anywhere that standard spikes won't work, these will do just fine.

Light but strong.holds better especially in softer ground.bright colors help recover them.i find a dead blow hammer drives them best with least possible damage.these are aluminum.

There were killer in fine sand! not the regular sand you find at the beach, this was in Pismo beach which has podery sand. We used them to keep our tent and canopy anchored down. i hammered them down an inch or two below the level of the sand and they worked so so good. the length really helped i think. make sure you install them correctly.

Honestly, I'm giving these 4-stars just because they weigh more than stated. I know it's silly, but the ad states 1.8oz per each stake, and every single one that I weighed out of the 10-pack was over 2.0oz. Around 25% heavier than stated. Boo-hoo, but when you're buying these for winter backpacking you are really relying on accurate weight statements from products. Also, these are HUGE. The pictures included here show it compared to the MSR snow stakes. I'd say these are a little overkill for winter camping, but I do have to say...... I will never be worried about my tent going anywhere in a tornado.

Purchased for a beach camping trip. We got caught in some high winds. Strong enough to break our tent poles. We had enough of these for 4 tents. Only one stake broke/bent in the wind. It twisted slightly. Would definitely recommend or purchase again.

Bought these for beach camping. Outlasted a horrendous thunderstorm, tents stayed in place, stakes stayed in the ground. Other tents blew away…ours had no damage. Highly recommend these to anyone beach/sand camping.

I do quite a bit of camping on Mississippi River Sand Bars. On my last trip a friend of mine pulled these stakes out to anchor a large canopy over our cook area. Usually I tie the guy lines to a log and bury the log; not any more!! These stakes are lightweight, affordable and work like a charm in sandy conditions. Highly recommended.
