The hinges look nice, they are small and very week, the screw heads break off very easily, I wouldn't buy this set again.

After I received these hinges and saw how small they were (my bad for thinking they were 1") and how flimsy they were, I decided to use them anyway (versus getting something heavy duty). I warped the metal as I screwed them into black walnut (hardwood) on one side and cedar (soft wood) on the other. I would not use them someplace where they will be constantly tested, but I think they will be fine on a box that that is rarely opened. The hooks on the other hand work fine and actually pull up tight when closed. I would recommend these and hope to make more projects with them.

I used the latch and hinges from this set to make a new candy box for my parrot. This is a latch which he can operate with his beak and he likes playing with it. I will find out how durable the metal is as he tends to grip things very hard. I used the corner protectors from a different, larger sized kit ( B0CXXQ8BS7 which is designed for slightly larger thickness ≈⅜" woods) for the completionThese hinges match perfectly 1/4" so no worries when working with thin wood, the latches are the same and screws are also short enough and plentiful. I drilled a 1mm pilot hole for the screws to which made them a bit tight but were perfect, I didn't know the exact size needed and guessed it was around 1 mm and nothing split despite being screwed into the e edge of very thin wood.

Too tiny for a blind man to install, but the price was great. Sturdiness is what I expected. Just right for small projects, but if you're planning a cubic foot box these hinges might be too small. I love that antique look and style.
