This bad boy made removing the harmonic balancer bolt on my 2006 Honda Odyssey an almost pleasant task. It spun it right off. The last time I did a timing belt several years ago I ended up using a 3ft cheater pile on a 24inch breaker bar while my brother in law held things in place. This socket is worth every penny and then some. Do yourself a favor if you are thinking aboit buying it and pull the trigger.I suspect it works the way it does because of the overall mass of the socket. Im sure a physicist could explain it in detail. I cant, cause I aint a physicist. I do know that it made what is frequently a difficult task quite easy. There are several vids on youtube of different guys using this, some are pros....I am not.

Save yourself some money, buy this one and stop trying to be boujee with snap on. It easily removes harmonic balancers if your impact doesnt suck. Saves time being weighted, looks and functions like all the overpriced ones.

I was in process of tearing down a 22re that was 30 years old and had never been opened, so the crank bolt hadnt been off since it was built at the factory so it was on there tight, I tried all of the other trick to get it off and nothing would work, I go this put it on my air impact and just hammered at it for about 2 min and it broke free and I was able to go on with the rest of the project.

This tool works awesome for getting Honda/Acura harmonic balancer bolts off. Unfortunately Amazon used a paper bag to mail it and used ups so the socket is lost and out of stock again waited a month for it only to get an empty bag. This is super great for my customers that I had lined up and had to reschedule them. Thankfully Amazon is decent about refunds but had to buy a lower quality socket since it would/should actually show up. Again Ares is fantastic just Amazon and ups suck

Perfect for stubborn bolts. I have an air impact but do not own a set of impact sockets since I rarely use it. I was struggling with some subframe bolts on my s2000. I tried a long breaker bar with pipe, 2135Ti impact at 130psi with chrome socket, and could only get 1 of 6 bolts loose. Within seconds of putting this socket on my impact I had one of the other bolts loose.I put it on a scale to see just how heavy it was for anyone curious. You can’t feel the heft in pictures so maybe this will help some understand what a significant difference this will make. It’s like going from using a regular hammer to a slide hammer or something of that nature. It’s a cheat code.

Tried conventional hex sockets to remove the pulley bolt, and the various techniques to help loosen it without success. First attempt with the harmonic socket it came right off. You need to use a impact driver.
