I purchased just a neck pickup because I already had a Seymour Duncan Psyclone for the bright position. I put it in a Jay Turser LP Copy. As far as sound goes, it's certainly on par with the Seymour Duncan. I'm sure the bridge pickup sounds just as good. However, out is not the same size as a standard humbucker as you can see from my photo. It's slightly wider and barely fit in the pickup ring, causing a slight bulge. It's also skinnier than a standard humbucker and looks a little awkward with the extra space around the ring.Overall, it's a great sounding pickup and for the price I can't really complain.

Fits in standard humbucker mounting rings. Easy to solder in. Impressive sounds. I like them a lot. Not bad, even in a solid body

I installed this in my newer Gretch Sounds pretty close to the old Gretsch pick ups. I put up tone switch like the original Gretsch has rewired the volume knobs to be like an old one and it’s pretty excellent plays just like my 67 streamer I would highly recommend this.

Was having no luck selling my Epi LP Studio. I liked the guitar but just bored of the hum buckers. Since I was getting lowballed, I decided to put some new pups in the the Studio and at least have a new sound. I had a Grestch and like the sound but the Bigsby tree interfered with how I play. I looked into more expensive pups, but I figured these would at least sound similar and maybe more unique. I put them in there yesterday and have bee having a blast playing and tweaking my pedals to get a cool rockabilly sound. I like the cost, they seem as well made as anything. Plus, they come with coil split wires, which I can't use, but may rewire it with a new pots that spilt/tap the coil for more options. I had no idea that I would like the asesthic to the point that I think it improved the look of the guitar. Before and after..

I have around 12 guitars. My favorite pickup is a set of vintage Gibson minihumbuckers. They sound fabulous in one of my SGs. I was trying to find the right pickup for my other SG. I went through about 4 different pickup styles & nothing sounded right to me. I noticed a lot of players with the specific tone I was searching for are playing FilterTrons. For the price I thought I had nothing to lose.Perfect choice. These pickups give me the 'chimey' tone I was looking for. Sound great. I rewire most of my guitars to 1 volume + 1 tone. I swapped the volume pot from a 500k to a 250k pot. That got rid of the 'harshness' on the top end.Sometimes you find a guitar or pickup that sparks your creativity. These pickups have done that. You don't often see FilterTrons in an SG, but it was the magic sauce in this case.

Although it might not look like it, there is rust on every one of the screws at the top of this humbucker. However, this is not a complaint about that - I recognise that things go wrong, especially if you're dealing with Goods that are traded internationally. What I'm complaining about is that when I drew this to Amazon's attention, I got a form that I can put into the return box when MusicLily gets around to sending me the other half of the documentation for the return. When that will be, I don't know. There was also no option to ask for a replacement. Which, oddly enough, is what I want. I've now ordered a replacement from another vendor because if I don't fit this into a guitar by the time I get around to fitting it, it will be Christmas. I remember when Amazon used to try to deal with customers' issues. Now, all they want to do is get rid of you. I cancelled all of my subscribe & save items because I couldn't persuade them to stop dumping them in a big pile of broken boxes in the ground floor atrium of my address and not bothering to tell me about them. I have no problem bringing stuff up to my flat, but I have a solid objection to not knowing the stuff is there for hours on end. So, MusicLily, if you read this, it's not a criticism of you, it's a criticism of the awfulness of dealing with Amazon's bureaucracyAlthough it may not look like it, there is rust on every screw at the top of this humbucker. However, that's not my main complaint—I understand that things can go wrong, especially with goods traded internationally. What I’m frustrated with is that when I reported this to Amazon, they sent me a form to include in the return package, but I’m still waiting for MusicLily to send me the rest of the return documentation. When that will happen, I have no idea. There was also no option to request a replacement, which is precisely what I wanted. Now, I’ve had to order a replacement from another vendor because if I wait too long, it’ll be Christmas before I can install this in my guitar.I remember when Amazon used to care about resolving customer issues, but now it seems they just want to get rid of you. I have no issue bringing deliveries to my flat, but I strongly object to not knowing they’re there for hours.MusicLily, if you’re reading this, the problem isn't with you—it's with Amazon's awful bureaucracy.

These pickups are really great for the price if you are looking for a vintage-ish type of Filtertron sound, and are not just seeking the highest possible output and chainsaw distortion. Completely transformed my solid body LP-style guitar into a much more versatile instrument. At lower gain levels, tones are warm and clean, bassy “baritones”, into jangly and string-defined bell-like tones. With higher gain and overdriven, they go straight into the sparkly chimey bright metallic firey sounds, like say Billy Duffy (The Cult) with a hollow-body White Falcon Gretsch through a tube stack amp. Harmonic overtones galore, really fun. If you want a Brian Setzer vintage rockabilly-type medium bite, leave some gain up but roll back the volume knob on the guitar to 5-6, these really respond to knob positions.Wiring: these are 5-wire leads, I wired them in place of humbucker pickups with two-wire leads, no problem at all. Two of the five wires are already soldered together, just tape that off or heat-shrink it, (unless you are wiring for push-pull coil-split pots), and leave it dangling in the cavity by itself, not connected to any switch or pot. For the remaining three wires, green is hot, black is ground, twist the black ground with the remaining 1 bare uninsulated braided ground wire, forming one combined ground wire. Now you are back to one hot and one ground, like your old pickups were. I only include this because people get nervous about what to do with five wires all the newer pickups come with. I would suggest to the seller, make the installation more clear for first-timers with step by step photos to go along with the schematic diagram. To conclude, I love these pickups! May put some in a tele too.

I put a set of these pickups in my Duo Jet and played a gig eight after. I took a back up guitar with humbuckers for different tone on certain songs but found I didn't need it. These pickups sounded great on country songs, rockabilly, surf, classic rock and even a few heavy punk songs. They have the twang, the sparkle and the drive to do many styles of music...... AND they look great like a filtertron type pickup should! I bought a second set for my hollow body Gretsch.

I don't know what they sound like yet. I'm guessing they're ok humbuckers. I took off the cover to see how they are made. They are not shallow bobbin/thick magnet like real ones. I ran out of time to mess around and sprung for TV Jones. Will compare them later. It may turn out these are close enough due to being low output.
