Works like a dream. I tried getting away with a cheaper one that was an external motor with a string attached to the door and it wore out in 2 years. Spent a few bucks more and got this single unit and I much prefer it.

this was super easy to install. The screws it came with stripped easily, so I used my own. I am in Texas. We had a cold weather event where we got to 17 degrees but with the wind, it felt like 4 degrees. The door did not open or close. It wouldn't let me manually do it either with the manual button. But when we warmed back up it started working again. which is really convenient for me. If larger predators were an issue this door wouldn't suffice as a coyote or fox could get into it based on it being a little flimsy, but it works for us and our setup.

Worked nicely for a while, ordered this in August 2024 it is January 2025, roughly five months later and the buttons which operate the door aren’t very weather resistance. One of the buttons got a crack in it, and rain water entered through that crack and it no longer works. Since it’s been less than a year, I’m hoping the company will reach out and warranty this because there’s no damage it’s just weathering and it’s not even in the sun the full day. So Chicken door company, reach out to me. Let me know how to contact you and let’s see if we can’t get this resolved.

I bought this a few months ago and have absolutely loved it! Not having to hurry or worry in the mornings to let chickens out. Noticed that now in colder weather (below 30) that door doesn’t open in the mornings, very bummed back to the old routine. Can’t wait for summer haha!

We bought this chicken door about 6 months ago. Does what it is supposed to and we haven't had to change the batteries yet. Makes our chickens feel safe and secure. Set the open and close time and you really don't have to think about it. We check it periodically to make sure it is still operating properly and batteries are still good. So far so good. Great product and simple installation.
