This product works perfectly. The longevity of the item remains to be seen but this item skimmed the pool with no problems at. Easy install. May only last a year or two, but it’s 1/10th the price of the other options.

Instantly solved my filthy pool surface woes!!Our pool was designed terribly, with both jets and the only skimmer in the shallow end, so that the surface of the whole deep end is basically a "dead zone." Before I bought this, the surface of the deep end would be covered in debris all the time (unless we skimmed by hand).Installing this was SUPER easy. I replaced the short hose that comes with it, with a long 30-foot hose (1-1/4" pool vacuum hose from Academy Sports) which allows me to use this device in the deep end, attached to the jet in the shallow end. (I also tie it with a string to a nearby landscaping stake, to keep it where I want it.) Within a couple of hours the whole pool surface was sparkling clean.I had been considering getting a pool skimmer vacuum for several hundred dollars. SO glad I tried this instead.

Very disappointed to have received an incomplete unit... no hose included in the beat up box. Ordered this to replace one that had cracked in the float section over the winter, but other components were failing with age, including the old hose that kept splitting and cracking. So, where is the hose on my replacement unit? I realize this very effective product has been discontinued and sales are limited to stock on hand, but this should have been marketed as "open box" and identified that it was not complete, and at a reduced price, NOT NEW!

Called the company to see if they offered other attachments as none of the ones that came with product would fit our new Intex pool. They shipped me two other attachments arriving within the same week. Those did not work either so we went and got just a universal adapter, worked like a dream! This product cleans so well we let our Golden retriever in the pool whenever he wants. This product gets every bit of hair out of the pool quickly. If you want your dogs in the pool but hate trying to clean the hair PLEASE buy this you will be glad you did. We LOVE it!

So i first got this and thought it was useless as i have an old pool with nothing on the outflow hole to hook it to. My husband is a genius tho and took it to the hardware store and found a pipe that it fit to and would fit inside the hole of the outflow hole. He got it just long enough to stick it in the hole without blocking the outflow and it kicks butt. We have a neighbors tree directly over our pool that rains leaves and pollen and tree stuff in my pool and I have never once seen it clear until this thing. We gave it a day with the filter on it's usual schedule and our pump is not amazing but my pool is so clean! I am so excited! We have not been able to swim due to the debris from the tree and so this saved our summer. Buy it and make it work and wait a day before you judge. You will have a clean pool.

It does what is says but all the physical conditions have to be perfect, starting with the shape of your pool. I think it will work great if you have a perfect oval or similar shape symmetrical pool. Any cut outs in the shape will cause flow to be affected. The water pressure has to be perfect. And then there should not be any wind blowing that could affect the flow :). Plus no water fall feature that could disturb the flow. Good luck!

Original review:Excellent product. Keeps surface cleaner than ANY other method tried. Highly recommend this. Not obtrusive and unlike other types, will not restrict water flow.update 10-2016:I loved this initially, but it developed a leak in float chamber so no no longer sits at the surface. This means it no longer catches dirt on the surface. So virtually useless unless I can find a way to empty the sealed chamber and keep water out. I am persuing with manufacturer, or maybe they will address response here?
