Our 2.5mm Yamamoto Wetsuit Series are made of buttery soft non-petroleum (limestone-based) neoprene, designed to give even more thermal and sun protection in a wider range of conditions, in comparison to our 1.5mm wetsuits which are recommended as bathing suit replacements/ alternatives. Unless denoted wtih a "2.5mm Yamamoto" in the color name, wetsuits are 1.5mm thick traditional neoprene.

This wet suit is the BEST! The quality is amazing and keeps my kids warm when they want to play in the ocean all day. But the main reason I'm writing this review is because my son who was wearing the black Onyx wet suit was playing in the tide pools and a wave came and completely cleaned him out, throwing him against the rocks he was playing on. I was horrified of course and pulled him up from the water. Feeling awful and guilty that i had turned my back to the ocean (which you should never do) But he had NOTHING on him from the rocks. No scratches besides a small one below his ear and it's because the wet suit was thick and strong enough and protected him. He was a little red on his side but nothing open. It would have been way worse if he just had board shorts on. I am so impressed with this suit and so thankful for it. And by the way the wet suit completely handled the rocks and didn't even make a mark on the fabric. And he continued on playing in the tide pools for the next 2 hours....this wet suit is so worth it and I am especially thankful for it after seeing it protect my son from getting scratched up from the rocks.

My niece recently got a Selective Ha wetsuit in an effort to grow more comfortable around water and the ocean. She's a wild 2 y/o and growing rapidly but the suit has miraculously kept up with her over the past year. While it's great in the water (keeps her dry and warm always) she also loves romping around on land plenty with it on too. In fact she hardly takes it off - I think she thinks it's a superhero costume, which isn't a bad guess cuz the thing is practically indestructible! We're so glad we got her one and are eyeing the next size up once she finally grows out of the size zero we have for her now.

This wetsuit is perfect for active kids who love playing in the sand and water. It's comfy and lets them move around easily in the water. The XL size is great for bigger kids. Keeps my son warm and the material is really good quality too. Excellent value for your money.

Couldn't say better things about these wetsuits. Both kiddos love them, they are very well made, comfortable, and I've been stopped way many times by people aksking me where did I get them.
