Looks nice but has some issues. Don't use the included soft gasket for the drain collar as it wont sit flush and water will sit. Instead use plumber's putty. To prevent leaks at the drain use teflon tape on the pipe threads.

much better than those plastic drain units

I didn't end up using all the washers, and had to use teflon tape to seal the threaded connections. But overall, it works like a charm.

I installed two of these in less than an hour, and that includes removing the old units and cleaning the pipes. They appear to be all metal, excepting the sealing rubber parts, and of high quality. They work well: drainage flow is fast. And they look nice. Couldn't be happier. If that changes, I'll update this review.

I don’t have a pull up thingy on my faucet so these pop up drains are genius. There’s no way to loose a ring down the drain because the basket catches it all. Almost every other crud, hair, whatever might clog the drain is captured as well! It’s easy to install, easy to use and easy to clean. I’ll be buying this for my other vanity.

Our drain plug mechanism failed and I didn't want to replace something I never liked anyway. So, I bought this after seeing it in my doctor's office. I installed it myself with a few tools (and a bucket--don't forget the bucket!) and it works perfectly. It took a pretty tight grip to get it to fully screw in to close and not leak. But, once I did it, it's worked flawlessly since then. Very pretty finish that matches our other fixtures.

Overall decent quality but installation can be problematic for some people. Compare THEIR OWN stock photo vs. THEIR OWN instruction diagram, posted in the descriptions above. (1) The diagram shows silicone washers "A" and "B", and in the stock photo the lower silicon washer appears flipped upside down. (2) The diagram shows a think flat black washer above "A" and another thin flat black washer below "B". You can see the upper one in the photo but not the lower one -- I didn't see it in my kit. (3) The instructions use imprecise language so it's confusing which part they are talking about. They say "thick silicone washer" and a "thin silicone washer" but they are approximately the same thickness. Bottomeline -- my installation leaks. Read people's reviews: some people did just fine, but many reviewers report leaky installations. I'm sure it can be water-tight, ***IF*** they provide better instructions. I was able to finally get mine to be water tight by leaving out the top-most washer and using plumber's putty instead. I also flipped the bottom silicone washer as shown in the photo, not the diagram. Finally, I used some teflon tape on the main stem as a precaution but I don't think that did anything.

I partnered these with some new matte black faucets and I have to say that installing these were a breeze! The removal of the old ones, was not easy but its nice not having to use plumbers putty on the new one. The one thing I will say is that I DID NOT use the thin o-ring in ADDITION to the gel-gasket when seating the drain into the sink. The reason is that doing so, causes the drain to stick up too much preventing the water from actually going down the drain completely; there would be a small puddle of water surrounding the drain if the 2 gaskets were stacked on top of each other. I removed the thin gasket and only used the gel-gasket and the drain seats very nicely into sink. I LOVE the look of these and the press-action drain plug works awesome and has a hair trap built in! I'm glad i bought 5 of these! 100% would buy these again given the chance.

Only took a few minutes to fit and it worked perfectly with no leaks, I didn't use the rubber washer as the the silicone one was adequate on our basin. For four years we had put up with a plug operated by a lever between the faucets, it sometimes took a minute to empty the basin. The new one looks great and empty's it in a few seconds. Fantastic!I worked it out, I had spent just over four days of my life waiting for a wash basin to empty!

Easy to install and works fine. The plug is a little large for my taste but it works great and has the removable waste basket to keep the drain clean and flowing!

great product and quality. Need tape to seal the thread below the sink to prevent leak, which is not instructed in manual.

At this price you can not go wrong. This bathroom sink drain uses silicone gasket (most use rubber) and all metal construction. The stop works 100% and will last with the silicone seal. Installation is easy but follow these tip:1. To lower the strainer to the sink do not use the foam washer, the silicone gasket will do. (Make sure all surface area is clean).2. Make sure you line up the opening in the sink drain with the over flow hole. If is not line up the over flow will not work.3. Use teflon tape on the metal parts as this will give it a better seal and in the future if you need to take it apart it will make it a lot easier.4. Use the foam washer on the bottom before the silicone gasket. The bottom is rough and the foam washer will help with leak and you do not need to over tighten the nut.
