The specs don’t say the thermal cutoff set point. I took a chance and bought anyway because it came with TFT paste. Turns out it is way to low. My pot would make 2 cups, then shutoff, then 10 minute later start again with another 2 cups. Bought a thermal switch that opens at 145c and that fixed the problem. (1) they should update their product description, and (2) offer one that is at a higher set point needed for many coffee pots

I used to to replace the defective thermostat in our Andis 2 cup coffee maker.We love this coffee maker and were sad when it stopped working. A little research on U-Tube and Amazon lead us to this thermostat that got our coffee maker working like new again!

I think it's great! I did a bunch of research because I needed a replacement thermostat for my church's West Bend 33600. No one has them in stock, and no projected delivery dates either. Found out that one company sells these thermostats to the manufacturers. I also checked into the temperature and functionality the WB thermostat was rated for. Both the P170-97 and this one do the same job in the same way (big coffee makers can be dirt simple, the lights make it complicated). So, for little money we have the WB 33600 back up and running vs. buying a new coffee urn.

Although this limit switch is physically identical to the model that came out of a 12 cup standard Mr. Coffee unit, it has a lower trip point than the factory trip point. What this means is that while it will brew coffee, it does more slowly and therefore takes more time to make a full pot. The real issue is that the standby temperature after brewing is subject to the huge heat mass of the full pot of coffee. So the limit switch cuts out and less vigorously heats the hot plate - eventually, it won't keep up with the heat loss from the pot and the coffee ends up being much cooler than it should be.While this was a functional part and a relatively easy install, the trip point for the switch is not accurate and is too low for this application.

The item was exactly what I needed to fix our firehouse coffee maker. After all a firehouse without coffee is a scary place ! The thermostat was an identical replacement and installed with ease.
