I ordered this USB-Aux Bluetooth adapter to replace the old Bluetooth adapters in one of my cars. I love how this one plugs directly into the USB port with no mid-line controller. It's simple to use. After I completed the pairing process on the first use, it auto-connects to my phone as soon as I turn on the ignition, which is SO nice compared to the old one that I constantly had to manually reconnect. The sound quality is really good, and the coiled line keeps the connection very neat around the console of the car. I would definitely recommend this item.

This would probably work great in a car that has no bluetooth connectivity, but has an aux input port. Note, for a car, you will also need a way to apply power to the bluetooth receiver, which they assume will be via a standard usb jack. The thing is, most cars with a standard powered usb port already have bluetooth. But ok, let's say your car is very old and only has an aux port and the old 12vdc port (aka, the old cigarette lighter) for powering accessories. In that case, you would need an adapter to plug into the 12vdc port that provides a powered usb port. Then you would plug this device into the USB port so this device can get power and plug the 1/8" plug from this device into your aux in. A bit of a kludge, but it would work.In my case, I didn't get this for my car. I wanted to make use of my old home stereo system which still sounds great but does not have any wireless capabilities. So I got an old 120VAC to USB power adapter (like that little one inch charging cube that used to come with every iPhone) and plugged that cube into the 120VAC switched outlet on the back of my Harman Kardin amplifier. I then took this bluetooth receiver and plugged into that cube. Now, whenever I turn my amplifier on, the bluetooth receiver powers up and automatically connects to my phone. Finally, from the bluetooth receiver, I plug it's 1/8" plug into an adapter cable that converts it to two RCA phono plugs that I then plug into the back of the Harmin Kardin "cd input" jacks. (Search for 1/8" female to two RCA male cable.) Voila. I can now play my Spotify playlists on my glorious 100 watt stereo receiver with my old but excellent bookshelf wired speakers. Not as convenient as a full house Sonos system, but with my old stereo amp and my old very decent speakers (which were only collecting dust) I now have a wireless hi-fidelity audio system for less than $20. Granted, I could just get a USB adapter cord and plug my phone directly into the amp, but then my phone is permanently tethered to the amp and sometimes I like to walk around the room a little bit with my phone so I can check texts, emails, etc., without walking over to the amplifier. The audio fidelity is very good... not as good as CD quality, but that's a limitation of bluetooth I think, not this particular device. I've had no problems with the device being recognized and connecting to my phone, AS LONG AS THE PHONE IS IN RANGE. Therein lies the reason I only give 4 stars. In a car, the range wouldn't be an issue, since your device is literally a few feet to the bluetooth receiver. At home, you are going to be limited to about 20 to 30 feet. if I leave the room where the audio amplifier (and bluetooth receiver) reside, the music starts to stutter. I think other dedicated bluetooth receivers do way better with their effective ranges, but they are 5 to 10 times the cost of this. So as long as you are aware of these limitations, this device will do exactly what it says it will do... give you bluetooth wireless connectivity between your phone and car/home audio system that does not have bluetooth capability. For that, it's a great value.

I have been through a lot of variations of devices like this, from cassette adaptors to FM transmitters to bluetooth. This is one of the nicer designs I've had. All it needs is an aux jack and you should be good to go. The call feature is not that great (you really need a dedicated mic for that) but for other audio it does the job in a nice package.

My 2009 KIA Sportage has a premium factory Nav/CD/FM Stereo that came with a nice power amp and a subwoofer.Awesome System for sure.No Modern device integration at all. Zero, Period!!Due to the unique OEM design and integration there is virtually NO WAY to upgrade the head unit to integrate new technology like Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay. That means to upgrade I would have to discard the power amp, subwoofer, and even the built in tweeters in the dash. All those perfectly good, matched components could not be used.Even trying to match the factory level of High Performance Audio would be an expensive and time consuming task that would require design and installation. As the picture illustrates, this adapter simply plugs into the ports provided by the factory to use a first generation IPOD.It powers up and is ready to go so fast that my phone connects to the adapter long before the factory head unit boots up.FLAWLESS CONNECTION !!!Works perfect, has a microphone built in for hands free communication while driving, and now all my phone audio APPs such as Spotify and Sirius, and even my FM Radio APP play from my phone through the factory amp, subwoofer and tweeters. All I needed was to add a good phone cradle and now for $ Eight dollars or so, it is certainly less than a $10 solution. We now have upgraded a 15 year old car with an existing Super Sweet sound system to truly accept and operate with modern day technology!!

I bought this product and it works great. The only thing is that sometimes the audio sounds “clogged” but easy fix just turn down volume on phone and turn up volume in my car.

This cable lets you upgrade your car stereo instantly for older cars that have no bluetooth audio. It's really as easy as plugging it in to USB and AUX in in your car and pairing it with your phone. You're set and can stream your audio without any need to replace components - assuming of course you have an aux port in your car.The coiled cable keeps it tidy and stops it from going all over the place.Simple and easy.
