Out of the package, I installed it on a tri-toon according to the instructions. Locked down solid...until I started towing. Since I have a large outloard on the back of the boat, the bow tends to be light at the bow and bounce, which is why I wanted the strap. I made it 10 minutes on a flat, straight, main road and saw the bow start bouncing. I stopped, readjusted and started again only to have the same thing happen. When I got to the gas station, I disconnected and made sure it was very firm and locked well. I even wrapped the excess around the buckle to keep it from popping open again. Within 15 minutes, it came loose..I exchanged it for a new one. Took it out of the package, Installed it and it wouldn't lock in place. I fiddled with it for a while and it never would firmly lock. I know, I know....watch the video and make sure it's threaded right. Here's the thing, if the manufacturer can't thread it right so it works right out of the package, it's a poor system and inferior product. This one is in the truck to be dropped off for return. These truly are unreliable and terrible if you are trying to eliminate bounce. My other boat's bow doesn't move when I tow (none of my previous ones have either) so I keep the winch strap connected and it's fine, making this type of strap unnecessary. If you need this to eliminate any movement when towing, it will fail and randomly pop open by itself.

I have reviewed pictures, online videos, manuals, ets. No matter what I do, the strap is still flimsy when the buckle is flipped down. I finally got it threaded so that it won't pull out if the trailer strap hook breaks, but it's not comforting to see it wiggle it also requires me to 'un thread' the strap through the buckle to loosen.

We recently towed our boat out of town and purchased two short straps for rear of boat to trailer and a longer strap for front of boat to trailer, very happy with this purchase, durable, nicely made, easy to use, liked much better than using clanky, bulky ratchet strap tie downs. These arrived quickly, and are nice quality, were reasonably priced. Would recommend for any boat/trailer towing!
