Item was covered in thin layer of plastic. Box was torn and item was scratched down to the metal and a large conspicuous area of paint removed. Otherwise a well made item. It stands on its own when folded as opposed to having to lean it against something which was an unexpected bonus.

Love Love Love this step stool!! Now I must note that I unfortunately had to return this product but please read my full review to better understand why because it was not because of any fault in the product. I will start by saying this product is a great price for how well made and study the product was. I only returned it because it was much taller than we needed for the apartment we are currently in considering our heights. Me and my roommates are around 5'4 and the ceilings are only 8 ft, so with the stool being around 2.6 ft tall, we didnt really need such a big stool, but it would be perfect for most homes with standard ceilings.I was comparing this one to the more pricey similar ones and was afaid i was going to get a flimsy, cheap product.But no, I could not be more wrong. This stool is very well made and easily holds me and my roommates weight (200 lbs+), not to mention it also folds flat and is a lovely matte black.I do also want to mention that the support team from this seller was amazing in sending a replacement when the delivey man misdelivered my package because it unfortunately happens a lot in my apartment building.
