Looks great and works perfectly, but this doesn't seem to be real wood. I believe it's MDF with a veneer.

I am really impressed with this book stand. It is exceptionally sturdy and the hinges are heavy duty. The page holders flip and turn towards the back of the stand when you don't need them, which is a nice feature it you have a larger book that lies open on its own. Once you have set your preferred height and angle, you can easily turn the stand as needed from the swivel point on the base. My partner is especially impressed that this is great even with slick magazine paper - now we have something to hold our recipe magazines while trying out new recipes!

Absolutely outstanding thing! Easy to position, stays in place, includes wrench to tighten if it gets loose, can do 90° straight up, clips held very well and it folds up to be compact. We used it to hold a flat mirror in a pop-up plane'arium & it was a game-changer!!
