I was hoping the shaft would fit based on the description of the item. Amazon said it would not- andthey were right. It looked great and I preferred to use the Borgeson- --trust the Amazon fitment guide.

The guy I bought the jeep from was an idiot that welded the old steering shaft so it was one piece with no compression capabilities. So, this was the logical choice to install. Easy to put in, hard part was getting the old one out.

Fit my CJ-8 perfectly. I didn't even realise how dodgy my original steering shaft was until it broke. My 8 tracked beautifully and I never even thought to replace the original shaft until my coupler broke. But once I put the Borgeson on the improvement was actually noticeable. A great improvement for minimal investment, and it's very nicely made.

This was easy to install and a way better design over the factory unit. Probably only took an hour to remove and replace the old unit. Seems very durable as well.

Wow, I purchased this Steering Shaft to replace the stock original that had over 200,000 miles on it. I found that even after rebuilding the lower part of the original shaft there was still 3 to 4 inches of play in the steering wheel. So I purchased this shaft after reading a bunch of reviews and reading about them on the Jeep Forums. I got it friday and all I can say is wow! No slop in the steering at all! It installs really easy but you must make sure you use a ton of grease and really clean the splines, I did read that you want to paint it because it is raw metal, so I did. I made sure I primered it first and I did shove paper towels in the joints and filled all the screw holes before I painted it so that none of the movable parts got painted. I finished it yesterday and took her for a test drive and WOW what a difference. I should have done this 2 years ago! It is worth every penny!!!
