lacrosse protective gear is generally a trade off between maximum protection and maximum flexibility and feel. this arm pad offers good protection (plastic elbow piece under the brine logo) and very good flexibility and breathability. neither upper arm nor forearm have any plastic armor protection, but rather the rubber protective pieces you see. this would be a good pad for defensemen that want a little more protection than just elbow guards provide, or an offensive player that doesn't like the constraints of full plastic armor in favor of flexibility and tough enough to absorb a few checks. this is not for you if you find yourself catching a lot of hard checks to your arms. no pad does it all (max protection and flexibility). choose your equipment to fit your play.
