Bright light, easy to install as a replacement and decent quality. The fan is noisy but will suck the hair off the family dog at 20 feet. Too much fan for my small bathroom but does the job better than the one it replaced. I would recommend having a separate vanity light as well as this one just because of the noise factor. The bulb is easy to access and replace and the plastic lens comes off easy. Worth the money for a larger bathroom and no regrets about installing it.

My master bathroom fan needed to be replaced, the light did not work, the fan motor was noisy. Since it was a new house I thought a one for one replacement would be great. By matching a similar sized unit and some careful planning I was able to avoid opening up any drywall. I was able to get the old unit out and secure this unit without any issues. This model is so quiet and the lighting is what was needed.

The Broan 679 Vent fan was a good upgrade to our builders grade vent fan that came pre installed in out second bathroom. We needed a light where the old fan was to illuminate the bath tub better. Installation was relatively easy (working up in the insulated attic over the bathroom is not my favorite activity but that is no fault of this product). Had to widen the hole in the ceiling a little bit and add additional framing to the joist because this unit was both taller and wider compared to the builders grade unit. Wired the fan and light to the same pre existing switch to save the pain of wiring and opening up the wall to put a separate switch for the light. Overall very happy with the purchase.

Happy with the overall product, losing a star for noise level- easy install- fits a standard bulb- good circulation

I bougt this fan to remove moisture in bath room. Easy to install not to noisy all fans make some noise. I put a 2 watt led light in it for a night light. I works great. The only thing I did not like is there is no tab locks on the hose connection adapter had to tape it to the fan housing. I would recommend this fan. I hope it last a long time. The price was good. I would give it a 4 star seeing there were no tab locks for the vent hose connector.

If you buy this fan to replace a worn or not working unit, you must take off the new motor from the frame and put it on your old one.The lens cover and light parts do fit, especially if you snip out some metal for the bulb to fit correctly! It is just a little less noisy than a worn fan. People are basically stuck replacing the 679 with these, because the whole enclusure would have to be removed and a bigger hole cut out in your ceiling to replace this 679 or the older 679!If you are buying the new 679 for your home as a new installation, I would suggest you buy a different model with a quiter sones #.

Just installed this fan and it works fine. There is no brackets to attach to studs just the box, so if you are going to install it between joists then you will need to build in your own supports. The sone level is about right I was actually looking for something on the louder side but was worried that the product would not be well built. The only complaint I have is about the lighting. When looking up at the fixture the light output is only on one side of the diffuser. I guess this cannot be helped due to the design but it would look a lot nicer if the diffuser was evenly lighted instead of looking like it has a burnt out bulb.

I bought this to replace a failed exhaust fan in my guest bathroom. The previous model did not have a light so this was an upgrade. It was a little tricky to install because its designed to be installed in only two positions, but my installation of course was not easily done in either of those two positions. There are tabs and flaps of metal on the sides that prevent you from flush mounting it against a solid surface, so I had to get a little creative. However, once installed it looks great and works well. Before I bought it I had read the other reviews that said it had some issues with rattling and I have to say that is true. When I turn on the fan it does rattle, metal on metal rattling. Something inside the housing must be lose and causes vibration inside the unit. I could probably tinker with it and get it to stop, but its too much trouble. The rattling doesn't really bother us, so its not a big enough problem to do anything about. The quality of the unit is good, instructions could have been a little better, and it would be nice to have more installation option as far as which sides you can mount to a surface, but overall its a good unit and of good quality. I would get it again.

Installed in bath that did not have one.Light is awesome, helped light things up for sure. Just make sure and use 100 watt clear bulb for better light.I wish the lense cover would be clear too.Not the quietest in town, but not a big deal. You have to install from attic for sure.Thought is was weird that it only mounts on one side, but that is the way it is made.I think it would be more secure with brackets that go from joist to joist. So far no vibration.
