Very nicely sized slate boards, they look very elegant set up with cheeses, pates, fruit and dips. I like being able to label the different cheeses with the chalk - but it took me a minute to find the chalk in the package, it was tucked into a little cutout of the foam packaging but being the same color I didn't even see it!This set would make a very nice wedding or a single one as a hostess gift.

I've always wanted to try using natural slate serving boards for cheese, crudités, and other antipasti. I've seen a few in stores that were fairly thin, and some in fancy catalogues that had oddly high pricetags, so I've never tried them before. These slates are thick and heavy. They came in secure packaging that prevented breakage, and I was very pleasantly surprised at how nice they were for this price. The edges are beautifully finished, the texture is pleasing, and the size is perfect.The slates had some black dust on them under the shrinkwrap when they arrived, but this washed off easily and did not return.Finally, the boards have small foam-rubber pads on the corners of the underside so that they will stay put on whatever surface you put them on. I have just a minor quibble with these: on two of the four slates, one of the pads is twice as thick as the other three, so those two boards don't lie completely flat. These are just ordinary small black foam bumpers, though, so I will find a set of foam or even silicone bumpers and replace them myself. The slates themselves all seem perfectly flat, though, and I think that at this price, they're such a good value that the pads are not a big issue. Five stars.

First, this is a natural material, so some variation is expected. I understand this.That said, I would have expected a bit better quality control. For example: * Thickness can be variable, but the thinnest piece is just over 3mm thick, and the thickest is just over 9mm thick. More than half a centimeter difference IS NOTICEABLE. * Surface consistency is not great. One of the platters has several depressions right in the middle of the slate, another has a discolored depression near the edge. While again, it is a natural stone material, and variation is expected, some degree of consistency is also expected. Personally, I would have cut these two samples into smaller pieces, either 4" square or round, for use in some other application than having to be 8x12. * Machine lines - one of the boards has a line across the top that will not wash off. You can tell that it was created by friction from whatever machine is used to cut these into rectangles, but it should be avoided.For $25, it seems like a good deal if these imperfections aren't beyond your ability to accept them.

We sell tons of cheese and charcuterie displays and these boards are great serving pieces. They’re heavy and study and for less than $8 each, these are such a great a value. I have several smaller ones that I paid twice the amount for that are not as thick as these. They also clean up really well. This is a set of 4 trays with 2 chalk pieces. Very happy with these boards.

I love using these for raw vegan sushi rolls! They look great and feel super durable. It's a much-appreciated way to mix up the standard serving dishes. I get lots of compliments on them and being able to write the names of each roll in chalk is an added bonus!

You always worry about how slate will arrive whenever you order it. That is not a problem with this seller - it arrived in excellent condition because they didn't skimp on the cardboard.The slate is thick and as described. Would make a great chalk board or serving board but I used mine for slate signs via a laser engraver. I'm giving this 5/5 rating but one thing to know is that it comes with two large pieces of chalk. Given that there are more than two boards, I'd have preferred if you had one chalk piece per board. Not a huge deal though, you can just break the chalk in half (they are big enough) and be good to go.

This set of slate cheeseboards comes with 4 boards so that you can split and arrange your offerings any way you would like. You can also write on the boards with food safe chalk or markers, which I really appreciated at my last party. Between the number of board and ability to write on them, I have plenty of room to mark all of the offerings so I wasn't answering questions all night about what was on them. They hand-wash in soapy water and air-dry. I think they're practically indestructible. I also like that the black slate provides a neutral foundation for any goodies, and they can be used year-round since they're not holiday specific.
