It is a very undemanding plant, well suited for individuals who travel often or who are prone to forget to water their plants. Thick, round, dark green leaves and delicate pink flowers sit atop fleshy stems and branches. These succulent features hold water for long periods of time. Though it grows to heights of 10 feet tall in its native habitat, it is an ideal bonsai for a beginner; this beautiful plant is easy to care for and will be a thing of beauty for years to come.

The first 2 pictures are on the day my beautiful plant arrived. I re-potted her (Cleopatra is her name, yes I name my plants) right away and followed the instructions on the website for trimming her roots back and how to stabilize her in the bonsai pot provided. After the first day I noticed her starting to stretch out her branches a bit more. It hasn't been a week yet but I had to write this review due to new leaves starting to come out already!! So surprised 😮 😲 I didn't expect to see new leaves yet. She only lost about 10 leaves after re-poting and I pinched off a few bad ones. In the third picture you can see the new little leaves 🍃 come in. Her appearance, health, and size were just as described. The soil is perfect and will help her grow beautifully. Her trunk is nice and thick to help her be strong and durable. I'm so happy 😊 with my new little bonsai. I highly recommend this company to get a starter bonsai. I may get another one later but right now and happy with my little Cleopatra.

Great value!! For $25 you receive a healthy plant, a nice size bag of bonsai soil, a pair of pruning shears, a bonsai pot already wired, and a humidity tray! Can't beat that!!

NOTE - Unless every place this is shipping through to get to you is above 60 degrees, wait to buy it. It isn't worth the stress to the plant, or the expense of trying to get a replacement.Original Comments: This is a well packaged kit, everything carefully wrapped and protected, except for the plant!This was supposed to ship UPS 2 day and was sent ground from Mississippi to Seattle. I took the package from UPS and immediately opened it 1/26/2021.The plant was basically dead. Most of the branches were broken or falling off with a bunch in the bottom of the box. The soil was thoroughly watered before shipping, but was mostly frozen upon arrival.There are no refunds on this. I was hoping to just get a new plant (wrapped in Styrofoam for protection) but no. After calling Amazon Customer Support, they were willing to replace the whole kit.I'm giving 3 stars because the concept is great, all the non-living items are well worth the kit price. I just don't recommend buying one unless you are experiencing temps above 50 degrees (and every place it will travel through to get to you).To Brussels - All live plants should be packed in Styrofoam for temperature protection. It wouldn't be hard to accommodate a hollowed out version that would still fit in you packaging. It would be nice to get it right the first time.Reorder Comments: The reorder arrived today, 2/2/2021. The new plant is pretty banged up, but in much better condition than the last one. It still took 6 days for it to arrive. I'm upgrading to 4 stars for getting a living plant. Last 3 pictures are of the replacement plant.

It came package just right. It was alive and well. It was very easy to transplant. I turned it and pruned it to make it look how I wanted it to. So far so good

I'm so disappointed. My aunt sent an Amazon GC for my bday and I was excited to buy myself a bonsai. As soon as it arrived I opened it carefully and handled it according to directions. It looked good, but within a couple days started dropping leaves. I assumed it was just a minor shock from being shipped. Leaves kept falling. I thought new ones would grow in. Instead they all just fell off. By the time I gave up on nursing it back, it was beyond the return window (my fault, but I really thought with my green thumb I could get it to recover). Such a disappointment.

We love our bonsai! The live tree arrived very fresh and alive. We placed it under the light of our Aerogarden, and it seems to really like that light. The instructions were very clear and told us how to maintain our plant with care. It was really surprising this came from our home state!

I wanted to love it, but why oh why would this company put the instructions to pot the tree on the OUTSIDE of the box?? Yes, this was packaged beautifully...and I'm sure potting would've been fairly simple had I access to the instructions. My boyfriend brought it in and upon seeing the "open immediately" sticker on the box, he opened it immediately, or rather, he demolished it immediately... He tore the tape from the box which in turn tore a big portion of the instructions off. I managed to salvage some from the garbage, but I still had to guess at quite a bit. What's worse is that this company does not have instructions up on their site. I spent 20 minutes looking until I finally figured I'd just have to give it a shot with what I had. I looked through the box multiple times just in case I missed the instructions that you'd think would be packaged along with it. Hope I didn't just kill my tree! Include instructions INSIDE the box and it's 5 stars all day.

This is a GREAT way to get started! Everything you need in one box with instructions. The tree is beautiful and the soil and other items are excellent quality and condition.
