Perfect to insulate the inside of a barrel sap evaporator. Can be glued using high temp silicone as the blanket insulates the silicone from extreme heat!100% recommended.

Used this for my pizza oven and also insisting the firebox on my offset smoker. Great stuff and great price, arrived fast.3” of this stuff on my pizza oven and when I fire it to 1000 F you can put your hand on top of the over and have it be cold and then it will hold above 200 for 3 days.

I have used this to line a smelting kiln, I also used waterglass to seal it, after about 20 smelting runs it shows very little degradation. The side and top of my kiln only gets to about 120 degrees with two layers of insulation after an hour or so of smelting aluminum.

I use this to insulate smokers. It comes in a roll and is a little stiff and like fiberglass insulation. Cut it with a razor knife. Works great

As I posted in the seller feedback area, initially, there was a small problem with my order. I was able to contact the seller very quickly (he actually called back within five minutes of me leaving a message) and he straightened everything out faster than any seller I've ever dealt with. I was under a deadline to deliver an item to one of my customers which required this item, and the seller came out of his own pocket for overnight shipment so that I could make my deadline. Excellent buying experience.Regarding the product, I've used a number of different brands of ceramic blanket in the past, including Kaowool, Inswool, and a number of less expensive alternatives. While I've only done a couple of test firings with this product, it seems better made and sturdier than other types I've used. Specifically, the surface of the blanket is better assembled, and the weave seems tighter than on other things I've used. In the past, I've had issues specifically with the removable lids of small furnaces start to fail as the wool begins to separate with use and gradually hangs down lower, both causing cracks in the hot face (I use refractory mortar rather than cement for quicker heating), or the blanket coming unlaminated during the refractory curing process which leads to bubbles. This stuff performed a lot better and maintained its structural integrity during the curing process. Also, some other blanket that I've used tends to absorb a lot of the sodium silicate that I use as an adhesive to bind the blanket to the forge body, which means that you have to work really quickly or use more than you mean to. Alternately, some other brands do absorb it at all and make it difficult to get a uniform coat to seal it to the steel sides. This product absorbed just a enough that I could accurately figure how much sodium silicate it would take to uniformly coat a layer. Also, the wet hot face mortar adhered nicely without having to pile it on and gently spread it out or use another layer of coloidal silica on the interior. As a builder or furnaces, forges, and kilns, I think I'll be using this product for the foreseeable future. Highly recommended.
