I bought this for my daughter‘s dorm to make a college provided desk into a better storage solution. It’s pretty easy to put together. It’s also pretty sturdy for the price. Gets the job done.

This hutch fit perfectly on top of a college dorm desk. Be sure to measure the desk, though, because the hutch is big. There is plenty of room to use a laptop on the desk, underneath the hutch.Assembly was relatively straightforward, although I realized midway that I had installed one piece with the holes facing the wrong way, so I had to turn that piece around.The hutch looks great and is very sturdy, holding books, glassware and other objects. The only negative that I did not realize before purchasing it was that the top corners of the hutch are supposed to be secured to the wall using provided screws and brackets, to prevent the hutch from tipping over. Dorm rules prevented anything from being screwed into the walls. Fortunately I had two small pieces of hard plastic that I sliced into two wedges, gluing one underneath the front part of the two vertical pieces so that the hutch is slightly tipped towards the back. This has worked well, especially since the desk had a raised edge on both sides, preventing the hutch from sliding or being accidentally bumped in those directions. Thus, if you are unable to attach the top of the hutch to the wall, make sure you have a way to prevent it from tipping, before you buy it.
