For some reason, my Amazon account thinks these needles are "late" but on their way. I actually received them around 2 weeks ago, but only tried using them last week to sew a very fine hem on some very sheer, stretchy and delicate fabric. I couldn't believe how quickly I was able to do two long hems with very tiny stitches! I was also very surprised and pleased that despite how small these are, the needles were easy to thread (though I had to use a magnifier to see) and would take regular weight sewing thread without any issue (I was concerned about this last since some fine needles need extremely fine thread or it gets bunched up in the eye). I plan to use these for handsewing things that require a delicate touch and as invisible stitches as possible (for example joining strips of lace, or creating pin tucks). I am glad I didn't go cheap and bought these Japanese made sewing needles. Since I really liked their bamboo knitting needles and crochet hooks, I thought I try out Clover's regular needles and again, found their products to be exactly what I needed to achieve the results I'm after with as little frustration as possible. These are strong needles, BUT, this particular size and weight are definitely meant for lightweight fabrics and tiny fine stitches. I read in some reviews people trying to use these to sew on scout patches and other heavy, thick fabrics or materials. Yeah, they would probably break! If you need to handsew some upholstery, canvas, leather, or even thick layers of corduroy or denim---you need larger, thicker needles. Otherwise, it's like trying to attach a full commercial rig to a Toyota and complaining if the bumper gets ripped off. Anyway, I have no doubt at all that if I need any kind of needle for whatever handiwork I might do, I'll definitely order this brand.

These are the best needles I’ve found for appliqué. I mostly use #10, sometimes #12. I have never had one of these break or go dull.

As I have gotten older, it is more difficult to hold my tiny quilt binding needles. These by Clover are exactly what I need. Sharp, great quality and exactly as described.
