Product Description

This set will allow you to create perfect joints on plywood. The bits, in fact, match the true thickness of plywood, producing tight, accurate joints with no gaps! In this way you will avoid sloppy joints and extra space in your workpieces. These bits feature super-strength superior steel body, Non-Stick Orange Shield Coating and cutting edges made of SinterHip Hi-Density Industrial Chrome Carbide for a long-lasting performance. After a test performed by Wood Magazine, CMT orange bits have been rated the first overall router bits compared to other brands.

From the Manufacturer

The only set to use if you are making joints in plywood. Since plywood thickness tends to be thinner than nominal dimensions, CMT offers you a way to work around the problem - our Plywood Groove Set includes three specifically selected bits designed for making clean grooves and dadoes for accurate fitting joints. Use our 23/32 bit for 3/4 thick ply, 31/64 bit for 1/2 ply and our 15/64 for 1/4 ply. No gaps or sloppy joints, guaranteed. Available with 1/2 or 1/4 shanks.

These do the job for todays undersized plywood. Nice tight rabbets and dados.

Making a shelf system in garage from plywood. 3/4" bit would leave too much slop. Local stores didn't carry the 23/32" bits so ordered the set. Perfect fit! Don't know why I didn't have these before!

Needed plywood sized router bits. CMT was highly rated by YouTubers. Have used a few times and bits cut slightly wider slot than plywood. Can not say if the bit is off or the plywood is now narrower. Most likely the plywood.

The only bit I have used is the bit for the 3/4" plywood. The bit is sized too small to be able to cut a dado for 3/4" plywood. I bought these bits to make a small dresser and the bit broke about 2/3 of the way through the project. I'll stick with brands I know from now on.

Ok,I'm very impressed on how fast I got these bits, ordered on the 10th received on the 15th, and it said it was scheduled to hit me between the 17,and the 2nd of july, but, the box or case they came in is not what they are pictured in,it's not a case, itsts a plastic display box,and I am very curious as to why there is rust all over the top of the 23/32 bit, first time EVERYONE I got a router bit with rust on it brand new,it definitely looks like it's been used,it will know when I use it I guess ,hope it is not. The price on them was great, but I wish they came in the "case" as described....I'm actually really disappointed that they did not come in the case as shown, and I paid 35.plus 4.99 shipping, for the 14 shank, and I see now they have the 1/2 shank, for 30.00,and 5 dollars shipping, also shown in the case that I DID NOT get,and very skeptical about the one bit with rust, don't think I'm very satisfied with this order!!!!!

I got these for a project, using 3/4 ply. I was using some salvaged lumber, and missed a screw. Ooch. But my bad. even with a good sized chunk of carbide nicked out of the bit, it still cut well. [only one of the two cutting edges suffered damage} Good product, but all plywood is not to an exact dimension. The ply I was using was smaller than 3/4 but larger than 23/32. So you may still need to readjust your fence and make another pass.

I purchased this set of bits on Amazon in late November 2007. I needed the bits right away and I thought this was the fastest way to get them. They arrived quickly and were satisfactory in their performance. The are quiet running bits with no chatter or wobble. They cut smooth bottomed dadoes and plywood fits the dadoes "just right".My only concern is that I paid far too much for them. The delivered price was $42 and the base price was $31. I'd shop around if you have the time. Grizzly, for instance, sells them for $14 plus shipping / handling.
