These worked great! I used an extra one of the poles to repair my pool umbrella support arm that broke.

I have a an old two person Kelty tent that I bought at Target for $30, about 30 years ago (when Kelty used to be an off-brand)!The tent pole broke right before a trip so I quickly bought a Coleman pop up instant tent (which I also love), but went back to my Kelty to see if I could fix it. Happy to say that I fixed the tent pole like brand new! Highly recommend fixing tent poles with this kit, especially if you've got a tent that's never leaked!

I had an old Coleman tent that I thought I was going to have to throw out. Two of the poles had splintered fiberglass sections which were pretty dangerous and weren't holding up to the stress of the tent. This kit was easy to use, only thing I needed was a hacksaw to cut to the correct length, sandpaper to soften the burr, and a pair of locking medical pliers (hemostat) to pull out the old cord. I was able to save the old cord so I can use the new one for next time. Definitely saved me a lot of money by getting this kit, definitely recommended! Only thing that was missing were instructions, but it wasn't too hard to figure out.

Did exactly what it needed. I should have better planned as the diameter was a little different and the length required a little cutting, but it fixed my poles quite nicely with a little bit of modification and adjustments. Happy with final results.

The ease of use worked well however, be sure to measure your original pole and trim the new one to the same Spec. Also, the feeder wire for the shock cord sucks. I used 14lb monofilament fishing line to thread the shock cord through the pole. Yep, pretty good pole!!!

First of all, if you have any decent size set of tent polls, the included shock cord is FAR too short to be useful. So, if you need to replace that cord, you are SOL. Secondly, the poles themselves are not a standard size--larger than most regular tent polls. This might not be a big issue, but you will have a loose connection at at least one end. Thirdly, the included end caps (ferrules) do not fit the corner pegs of my tent. The narrow end would not accept the pegs and I had to ream it out to enlarge it enough to (sort of) fit the pegs. They should have included an extra aluminum (not attached) connection piece so you could place it where you wanted it. Oh, and if you think the included wire will help you pull the shock cord through--think again. This might work for some folks, but I found it to be unacceptable. What should have been a quick repair turned into an hour plus. Honestly, buying a new tent would have been less frustrating. Don't buy this cheap crap.

I'm using this for a flag pole on my recumbent trike. Very sturdy pole and just what I wanted. The last pole is hard to thread, but if you have a clothespin it's simple. Thread all of the poles except the last one. Stretch the shock cord enough so that you have plenty of cord to thread though the last pole and clip a clothespin on the shock cord at the end of the 3rd pole. That will take the tension off the remaining shock cord so it is easily threaded. The wire is totally useless. It would have been nice to have some instructions that at least told you what the little metal pieces are. They were too loose if I put them on the ends of each section of pole. These are the reason I took one star off for "easy to assemble".

I ordered these to replace 3 damaged pole sections on my Coleman tent. I knew from another reviewer's description that they would be a touch long for what I needed, but I was able to cut a few inches off the end and sand it down, and they worked perfectly. The trickiest part was definitely getting the elastic chord restrung through the older sections of existing tent pole...the wire provided was far too thick but I was able to use a thinner piece of wire that I happened to have kicking around. Good value, great save for my tent, and I'm sure they will last many years.

I needed a replacement of exactly 96" which is about 10" shorter than this Coghlan's product, so I took a hacksaw as per another reviewer's advice, and made a clean cut. Just don't breathe the dust.Pushing the elastic cord through is the slowest part of the job. It took a flashlight, gripped in my teeth (a headlamp would have been a better idea), to feed the cord into the hole, but once in, the cord will more-or-less snake through, but it takes some patience. The supplied wire is quite thick, so you can't do the expected thing and hook the end of the cord to the wire, but must simply stuff the wire through along with the cord. Ultimately, you pull the wire out the other end, and presto! The cord appears as well.I now have a sturdy replacement for the thinner fiberglass tent pole that came with my original tent (actually a hunter's ground blind). It's thicker, and won't bend as easily, but should last longer; a blind tends to be left in one spot for weeks or even months, and the weight of rain or snow can break the rods, so sturdy is good.As a side bar, originally I tried an aluminum repair kit, and the rods looked good and replaced the broken fiber glass rods from the original tent, but they bent and cracked over time. Useless. Fiberglass is the best. Just be careful and use a hacksaw as mentioned above, and you won't have a problem with splitting and fibers stuck in your fingers.

This is a great set of poles. Unfortunately, they were not what I needed. These poles are about 3/8 inch in diameter and are much stiffer than the quarter inch diameter fiberglass poles I'm trying to replace. I am returning these. These would be great for a tent larger than the little two man tent that I'm trying to fix.

Medida perfecta que yo buscaba y tanto me ha costado encontrar. El único pero, es que cuesta muchísimo pasar la goma por el interior, incluso con el alambre que trae el cual es muy grueso
