The fine grater disc makes easy work of grating Parmesan or Romano cheese for topping pasta dishes, nuts or coconut for topping cookies and cakes, ginger for adding to spice pastes and for seasoning a variety of Asian dishes, or horseradish to make your own horseradish sauce. Best of all, this disc lets you forget about scraping any more knuckles on that hand-held grater. The disc slots easily onto the detachable disc stem, but be sure to handle it carefully, as these blades are very sharp. --Jennifer Harris

I was surprised that this would not fit the spindle that came with my DL7 food processor. I'll be more careful with future Cuisinart orders. I also gave it a 3* rating because the holes do not go through the disk. I bought this for grating vegetables and I cannot imagine how carrots, potatoes, etc sould efficiently be grated when the processed material has to smoothly flow around between the disk and the processor bowl without gumming up. It would probably work with a dry product like Parmesan cheeze, but that was bot what I purchased it for.

Fast and excellent as pesto takes a lot of parmesean grated fine.

Grater works great…I have an old machine and was very happy to get this blade for it. It does shred Parmesan finer than I would prefer but considering it’s so much easier than doing it by hand I can live with it.

Used for grating potatoes for Deruny- Ukrainian potato pancakes. Worked like a charm and no bleeding knuckles from the box grater!

This disc is for fine grinding of hard, dry cheese like Romano or parmesan.Did a good job on a block of Romano. NOT FOR SOFT CHEESES .

I'm going to tell you a couple of things about this grating disk that may sound negative. So understand this first: I use it exclusively and recommend it highly.I used to grate Parmesan on with one of those little crank graters that waiters use in restaurants. I would probably still be doing it that way if I ever found a crank grater that didn't break. Even the expensive all-metal ones failed me. So I turned to batch grating with my Cuisinart. This disk does NOT grate the cheese into fluffy little curls like the handcrank ones do. Instead, the tiny spikes on the wheel yield a kind of granulated result. It's a little less pleasing, but you can grate a couple of cups of cheese in a few minutes and store the results in the refrigerator. To me, the ease of grating large quantities very quickly makes up for the fluffy finesse.

I was pleased to find that it did indeed fit my DLC-2011, 11-cup Cuisinart. It works well, it just takes longer than I expected - it took about 1 1/2 - 2 minutes to grate 2 ounces of parmesan. Other than that, it definitely grated it very fine - similar to the consistency of Kraft grated parm. Much better than grating it by hand for larger amounts, but unless you're also using the food processer for other items within the same meal, you have to determine if it's worth the cleaning of the parts versus just using a hand grater.

Love it! No more tears while grating horseradish root. And great for raw potatoes to make potatoes' pancakes. Quick and easy to use.

I really wanted to like this disc. I use grated Parmesan in lots of food and the thick grating disk doesn't do the fine grating I want for that. I was hoping to use it to grate soap for homemade detergent and also ginger, etc. It turned the Parmesan into dust, much like the cheap canned Parmesan, not like the fancy fine grate parmesan I was hoping for. It couldn't grate the soap at all, and the ginger just turned into mush. You'd be better off just using the regular processor blade.
