Bought this as a Christmas gift for our 11 year old. We wanted to get him something he can grow up with. Best. Purchase. Ever. He carries it around with him and practice a lot. Accuracy and range is decent.

It feels comfortable in the shoulder, stock is much more narrow and shorter than I anticipated, very lightweight. The firing mechanism works well, the fresh brand new compression spring for cocking it is much stronger and slightly difficult when compared to older models that are more "broken-in". Equally as loud as the original models.This in no way is a replacement for your .22, this is barely a step above the lethal capabilities of a daisy slingshot, neither of which should be used in your suburban back yard to injure and/or kill local wildlife.Please read and understand all instructions included in the package, follow local ordinances and rules, and stick to artificial targets.Aim is pretty good, about 15 meters with some 5-8 mph cross wind seemed to be about my limit on good accuracy. This is a fantastic addition for all adults to be involved in the art of ruining aluminum cans with the kids.Stay safe, have fun

You have to arch the rifle to reach your target if more than 60 feet.

I got my first BB rifle when i was 9 years old..1974!It belonged to a neighbor when he became to cool for BB guns. It wasn’t accurate, it was beat up and ugly but i Loved it. Not to long after that i got a Crossman air rifle,, a pump master 760z It was awesome..but i still loved my old Daisy and wanted one that was brand new. I had gotten into shooting forearms with my father and lost interest in my air rifles.Last year i bought the Christmas story, Christmas wish release 200 shot range model with a compass in the stock. Just the box art alone makes me feel like a kid again. Before i even opened it my buddy told me he bought the Adult Red ryder..said it was a bit bigger and that he loved it. I left the Christmas wish model in the box and ordered the adult Red ryder. It is awesome. Holds a lot of BBs and is so much don’t to shoot. No it is not a high end air rifle that shoot a million feet per second and could knock a fly off a guy wagon at 100yds, but it’s really special and works very well.I have at least 1000 BBs through it now and it still shoots like it did on the first shot..maybe even a little smoother to cock.But one, you won’t be sorry. Give one for Christmas too.🎄🎄🎄

Bought this in 2022 out of nostalgia, despite having lots of real firearms.There's just something deeply satisfying about a Daisy BB gun. Just feels right.Is it as high quality as the classics like my dad's Red Ryder from the 1950s? Nope.However, the quality is good enough, especially for the price. I like that the cocking lever is metal, and really wish the youth model was still made with metal.They still build it with screws so you can maintain it yourself, something other manufacturers don't do, which is annoying, because if you can't fix it at home, it's not optimal. That said, be sure to oil it correctly as per manual. Do not use too much oil, or it'll collect dirt and dust, gunking it up, and making your accuracy suffer. Accuracy at its best is pretty much what you'd expect from a BB gun. If you want better accuracy at longer range, get an air rifle; these ones are not rifled. They're plenty accurate for indoor shooting, 20-30 feet to a BB trap. I'm getting a group at 20 feet about the size of a dime, so like I said, good enough.Holds a buttload of rounds. Use stainless or coated BBs if you intend to leave the gun loaded between uses. If you use copper BBs, you may end up with copper-oxide corrosion inside the gun, and could end up ruining it. I would also recommend painting your iron sights (I do this with my real guns, too). A little bright red/orange paint up front, and white in the rear works pretty well on this one. Makes it super easy to line up a shot quickly.
