All the darn tough socks are great. These I got for skiing. They're warm and thin.

I bought these for a long trip on the plane and then for long distance hiking - I have size 11 feet and fairly large calves, nothing huge though - these seemed really tight and had NO padding at all compared to normal hiking socks- more like dress socks in thickness - I've heard these socks last forever - I guess that's right, they'll be in my drawer, almost always. they are really pretty and very well made, just not what I would want in a boot or hiking sock - they were just too tight and uncomfortable to wear even on the plane. I guess this is just a $30 lesson - I won't listen to all the hype again.

I bought size large. They fit my feet perfectly but are so small around the calf that I can't wear them. I love the brand and have 4 other pair of knee highs. This is the only one with this problem. Unfortunately, I waited too long to return them.

They're the most difficult article of clothing I've ever had to put on. I got the XL (size 13 shoe) and the heel and toe patches on the socks do not line up with my actual heels and toes, the socks are too long in the feet. However, the legs and ankles are so tight I could never imagine fitting a Large around my feet and calves, when the XL can barely stretch over them. So what ends up happening is I have an extremely snug leg with kind of loose feet. Defeats the purpose for me because I only bought them to wear as hockey skate liners.The material is a 5 star product, it's warm like it says from the merino wool and they were moisture wicking comfy. I gave them two tries and both times it was like an out of breath 10 minute experience on the floor trying to get them on. I just can't justify that much effort for socks. I will keep them in case hell freezes over and I need a permanent foot and calf base layer.

Fit is good not overly tight on my calves but tight enough to stay up all day.
