We use them on our outdoor wooden gate. Can add or remove layers as needed with wet weather and swollen gate... or good weather and dry gate. Offers flexibility and consistent latching.

My kwikset knob and deadbolt came with a longer plate but my new door frame had the hole cut for this size. This plate kept my from having to adjust the doorframe pre-cut hole.

I have an electronic lock and the small strike plate that came with would cause the lock not to engage properly when it was baking in the sun or on a wet day as the wood would swell. This fixed the problem completely.
