I've been using these for the last 6+ years to test my kids at home, before I take them to the Dr., and they work very well. Just used up my last one and went to order more, only to find that now you have to have a medical license to purchase!This is unfortunate, because they aren't rocket science, especially now that everyone has home covid tests! It was a lot better to have these than take kids right in, only to find out is viral, waste of a co-pay, and they can't do anything. Or the other extreme: you hold off taking them in, they don't get better, then they say if you'd brought them in sooner they could have started treating it.These tests are only a dollar a pop, so I can test every day and take them in when we have a positive result. If I were the manufacturer, I'd be fighting to get these in the hands of every parent in America.

I'm an RN and finally went ahead and bought this kit so we would have an idea when someone in the family had pharyngitis, if it was strep A that needed antibiotic treatment. This is the same kind of kits we use but different manufacturer, so I was familiar with it. I also ran the controls FIRST to make sure the reagents were working correctly. The only criticism is that reading the positive strip was a little more subtle than what they illustrate. If you do buy and use them, follow the directions and save the + strips to take to the doctor's office because they will want to see it. Easy to use, saves $ and gives you peace of mind!

I have kept rapid strep test kits in home for many years. My daughter has PANDAS, so we need to know if Strep throat is in the family. I test every "sore throat". This saves me doctors visits and co-pays when I can rule-out strep myself.I'd never actually gotten a + result until 2 weeks ago when my son complained of sore throat. This kit had just arrived the previous week. His test was definitely +. I was shocked and re-tested. + again. I looked in my other son's mouth and also saw evidence of possible strep. I tested him. He was faintly + too. Of course to get antibiotics, the pediatrician had to see and confirm herself. So I took them in, and doc confirmed +. I am very confident in the accuracy of this kit. I'm glad to have it.

Why pay a $20 copay every time our kids throat hurts, when we can pay under 2 dollars to find out if they have strep ? If they still feel ill after a few days we will go to the pediatrician.. Dealmed cultures are easiest to use. The instructions are clear even my 11 year old can do it accurately.. I’m sure YouTube has a video on it too. We are very satisfied with this product
