For the amount of money this thermostat cost it absolutely does its job .it's flexible across multiple platforms of service. Will work with GAS,ELECTRIC, OIL FURNACES . Has clearly marked wiring panel inside the mounting frame of the thermostat. You will need a SMALL PHILIPS SCREW DRIVER also commonly called a "#1 Philips" screw driver. And a medium size Philips screw driver or "#2philips " for mounting base or frame of the ther thermostat to your wall. It provides hardware including sheetrock screw inserts no need to find a stud in the wall to securely fasten the unit to the wall. Granite it's not programmable you can't designate specific times in days that you wanted to be warmer or colder in the home but it does as it's described as it regulates the temperature that you set the home at you can increase or decrease that temperature as you like it allows you to just turn the fan on separately as well as select between the furnace being on off or Auto. And it does all that with a large display that's easily readable by people that are possibly elderly or where corrective lenses contacts Etc and it's also got a large up and down here or that's easy to see and feel for that matter so you know what you're doing as far as the economics of the unit is well laid out instructions have visual as well as plenty of literature to get you through the setup on it any DIY or can set this thing up with like I say just two screwdrivers. Seems like a great value I will check in with how long it lasts if there's any issues in the long term.

Burned up my transfer switch on my hvac unit right in the middle of a snow storm that brought a blizzard to the Deep South, requiring a tech visit and gobs of money to repair. Also this is a 1H/1C so be sure you know what thermostat you need.
