Very short hands. No pendulum setup. Amazon needs to define dimensions on these clock mechanisms.

Works great thus far. I've noticed people having issues setting the time. You cannot simply just move the hr and hand time to 6 and 12 (as the chime starts at 6 am) and put in batteries,or try to back or forward the time manually on the face or the box. For example: If your chime goes off at 7 minutes before the hr (after setting hr to 6 and minute to 12),simply remove the hand from the mechanism and place it forward 7 minutes. If it chimes 6 am at 5am setting,remove the hr hand and place it on the 6 am marker (or whatever time its chiming when you do decide to fix it). It's quite simple actually, provided you use a little math skills with atleast 2 brain cells that'll work when required. My chime still worked,so I just connected the clock piece to the existing chime and will use the new one when mine fails. I also used my own hands I had w my clock as these weren't exactly the style nor length I needed but I did use the second hand that came w/ it as my original one did not have a second hand. For the price, I can't beat it as it works as it should. Oddly enough, it's the exact model my 25 yr old grandfather clock has (except the hands differ),with a added second hand bonus.

I have a cheap desktop grandfather type clock with chimes. One thing I found difficult to ascertain is how long the hour and second hands were that I was buying. I purchased what I thought would work from the description and the hands ended up a little short but still discernible in the dark of night. Trying to synchronize the chimes was impossible though, I watched the video read the instructions and tried several times but was defeated each time. I decided sadly to pull the separate battery for just the chime, I’d rather not hear it at night if it’s just wrong all the time.

I have several mechanical chiming clocks, this is the best electronic chime I've ever heard. There's only one tone that cuts off a bit early and sounds slightly mechanical. Otherwise it's nearly indistinguishable from a real chime. Of course part of that depends on having a good surface to resonate on. The speaker should facing the surface it's attached to.

Replaced an old German clock movement with chimes. This one works just the same, but is split into 2 parts. This isn't an issue if you have space in the clock, but might be for a smaller project. Follow the setup instructions and it will work fine. I used an ohm meter to find the 12 position when the chime should work and put the hands on with that as a reference.

This is a nice economical clock/chime mechanism. It arrived faster than expected direct from China, no Prime shipping. There are options offered just seems to be hand types. They don't specify shaft length but I took a chance. It appears to be standard diameter and the threaded shaft length is aprox. 5/16" If that works for you, go for it. The instructions are typical translation awkward but useful. The chimes actually sound very nice. I have this installed inside of an old mantel clock and the little speaker rests face down on a felt pad. The resonance of the clocks chamber and adjusting the volume provides a very pleasing Westminster chime experience. Sounds almost real! One minor flaw is on the 1/2 hour chime it ends rather abruptly, rather than fading out, giving away its electronic origin. The 1/4, 3/4 and hour chimes are very nice and I am pleasantly surprised how I look forward to the chimes during the day. It has also been very accurate for these past few weeks.
