The dock cleat is great because when not in use the cleat is virtually flat. It is not a tripping concern

These are installed on my dock and work great - remember to get the correct size screws to attach them - these are designed for lag bolts but you can get short ones. the hide-away when not in use makes it easy on your toes when you walk along the dock and forget they are there!

I replaced my old stand up dock cleats with these 6 inch fold down Dock Edge ones. Just had a surprise wind on the lake for 3 hours with a few waves splashing over the side of the hull. The cleats held as well as the stand up ones. No stubbed toes.

This is a well made cleat for docks, prevents toe stubbing, looks good on the dock, easy to tie up to when coming alongside the dock. We've had them on the dock for two seasons and they still look brand new (on a glacier lake in NY). Recommended without reservation.
