Due to having a special needs son who gets into everything and is very destructive, I have to lock everything up. Since I rent, I can't change the bedroom and closet doors to keyed locks, so these doorknob covers are perfect! They not only secure the doorknob, but I can also move them around to different doors as needed. They make things easier because I can use a combination lock, which means I don’t have to carry around keys or worry about my son getting hold of them.These doorknob lockouts are also great for exterior doors (if you have a regular doorknob) when I go out of town. I used a similar product while I was away and didn’t have to worry about giving the pet sitter a key; she just needed the combination code. It's a great accessory for enhancing security and safety.This particular doorknob lockout fits all my interior doors perfectly. Not tight nor loose. I've had a similar one that was bigger, and you could actually get your fingers around the base of the doorknob, behind the lockout, just enough to turn the doorknob. With this one that is not possible. I am giving 5 stars because it fits all my doorknobs securely. It's versatile with locks and can use either a combination lock or a keyed padlock. I can also use it on different doorknobs.

Not for smaller door knobs. I wish this fit nicely against my door knob but it does not. I have a standard door with a standard door knob but it's too small and loosely fits, not the snug fit I was expecting especially since it shows it fitting around a standard door knob in the image. I will say on the plus side it still does the job of making the door knob hard to turn because it's too clunky to get a grip so it does its purpose. Also It fits with most padlocks. I got a nice strong enforced padlock so even though it's loose it won't come off without some effort.
