This part was a perfect fit for my 20 + year old side by side refrigerator freezer. I’m a 68 year young female and with this $20 part I repaired the unit which is used as an extra in the garage. Working perfectly now for 4+ weeks since replacing the part. I’m thrilled that I was able to extend the life of this appliance.

The old defrost heater failed in my Kenmore fridge and this unit was a direct replacement and is an improvement on the design of the original which failed because water got into it.This unit has a shield that should prevent water from dripping directly onto the heating elements so I expect that it will last a long time. Installation was plug and go. I was happy that there were no complications. My fridge has been working properly for months now.

The price is right - twenty bucks vs up to $140+ from other sources.But it's about an inch too narrow for screw-mounting into the CSX22GRA and the three-prong connector needs to be cut off and the wires spliced into the old unit's wires.But, bottom line, it's cheap and it works.

Installed over a month ago, working fine. Installed similar unit about 5-7 years ago. Seems like that is probably the lifespan of these cheap replacements, but that is fine with me for $20. If ice is caking up in the freezer and cooling is diminished this could very well be the problem. Unplug and let the freezer thaw overnight, put plenty of towels on the floor to soak up water, then remove the old unit and follow the same wiring pattern, not very difficult and worth $20 to try.

This Refrigerator Defrost Heater & Thermostat Kit was just what I needed to repair my 27 year old Kenmore refrigerator. My refrigerator was having problems maintaining proper temperatures. The freezer would only run at about 40F and the fridge would run at 65F. I've run into this problem before with this refrigerator so I knew the problem was probably a non-functioning heating element. When this happens the defroster does not work properly, and ice builds up on the refrigeration coils, which prevents the fridge from being able to hold proper temperatures. The proper temperature for refrigerators is zero F in the freezer and 37F in the fridge. I didn't want to purchase a new refrigerator because they cost $1,400 and higher for a two door model like the one I have. So paid $20.99 for this repair part and installed it in my refrigerator. The problem was solved, the refrigerator now holds zero F in the freezer and 37 F in the fridge. I like that this repair part comes with both the heater elements and a thermostat that are already wired together. If you buy the parts separately you will have to make the connection, and you will probably pay more for the parts. I'm glad that my refrigerator is now running great and I recommend this repair kit.

Our old GE side by side as been in our basement for about 20 years and for a long time was really only good for keeping beverages cool, not really chilled. I noticed that the ice build up in the freezer section was REALLY thick and thought it was probably time to throw the unit away. Before doing that though I did a little research online and thought the problem might be the heating unit. YouTube videos made installation look quite easy so I figured it was worth trying a replacement.The heating unit was easy to install and I was both surprised and very pleased when I found both freezer and refrigerator compartments were working perfectly. HAPPY CAMPER here.

I am a 33 year technician. I started buying some parts for my company on Amazon. Was happy at first, but, started getting calls for part failure quickly. My advice. Unless you wish to do this repair again quick, avoid these. These are b grade parts. Faulty. I noticed after directing unit to defrost cycle, these only light up one side, or, if they fire both, one is hotter than the other. Thats one example, other times, just burnt out one side within 1 week. I tried 3 different sizes and shapes for other units, and DO NOT BUY ANY GLASS HEATERS FOR GE OR KENMORE FROM THESE SELLERS.The good reviews you see, are the ones who wrote it, right after install. A week later, do it again. Wish I could return all of these. Cost me free service calls and embarrassment. Made my company look stupid. ONLY OEM, or look stupid. No more electrical ANYTHING for my business on Amazon. Actually, as a professional, I ask AMAZON to REMOVE these sellers. Their are reasons they are on here so cheap. They didnt pass inspection, and quality control did not throw away. Some idiot at the manufacturer, thought, HMMM, i could sell these on ebay or amazon. Bam, here we are. Thanks for costing me several hundred per mad customer. UGGGGGGGGGG
