I didn't have much luck sharpening my drill bits as it was awkward to hold the drill, the sharpener and the drill bit.May work better if the sharpener is clamped to a table. The instructions are extremely small and difficult to read. There are spare discs included as well as an adapter for different size bits.I've never used a bit sharpener and really wanted this to work as I have plenty of dull bits, but so far I haven't had much luck.

The sharpener is made of cheap feeling plastic. The wheels don't feel all that substantial. The mechanism is difficult to turn by hand, so the drill you hook up to it is going to have to fight that while turning the wheels fast enough to get a good grind on the drill bit. this is also awkward to use. You will find yourself having to use one had to hole your drill and the other to hold the bit in the slot.I am not impressed with this sharpener.

I ordered this device more out of curiosity than anything. While I use drills on pretty much a daily basis, I have never attempted to sharpen a bit as I tend to buy multipacks of throwaway HSS bits. I do however have a couple of 'good' sets of bits where some are getting a bit dull so when I spotted this sharpener I thought I'd give it a go.The sharpener is made from quite heavy duty plastic (It may be 3D printed but I'm not sure) and consists of two diamond plates that are positioed at around 135 degrees to one another with two guides that angle the drill bit in the correct manner to grind the tip. The diamond plates are probably around the 600 grit range so quite coarse. To offer thebit to be sharpened there are three different sized jigs that hold the bit at the correct angle to be ground; these jigs do not clamp the bit, you have to hold them in manually and then hold the jig against the guide on the device.Theres a spindle on the rear of the housing that you place in the chuck of your drill to spin the abrasive plates. If this all sounds a bit complicated thats because it is...well more awkward than complicated - there are a lot of things to hold all at once and you need to line things up carefully to get the correct angles. I eventually ended up clamping it to the edge of a table - this did help but holding the drill on at the same time as holding the bit in the jig against the guide is still a bit of an operation. Results I'd say were Ok, the drill was certainly sharper than it was but the tip was a lot rougher than normal, I didnt try honing it but this might have helped. So, yes it works but it is a bit tricky to use so its not something I will keep to hand when I want to touch up a drill bit - its just to foutery for that. You do get a spare set of plates so clearly the makers do think that you are going to use it repeatedly...wishful thinking?
