Seemed like a great product until I used it. I own a Sigma 150-600mm lens. This ring kept falling off no matter how carefully I screwed it on. Can't use it if it constantly falls off.

A great replacement for the flimsier OEM hood from NIkon, delivery was quick and no fuss. I bought two of these, one of the longer length and this one.A replacement lens hood for my 200mm - 500mm Nikon zoom, this one's robust and very light, very close to the weight of the OEM plastic one. The interior's covered with a mate-black lining so there's no unwanted interior reflections, and it feels solid on the lens. It screwed straight into my UV / ND filter without any hassle, and there's also a thread on the other end so (if I wanted to) I could leave it permanently mounted and put the filter on the end of the cap. The OEM lens cap fits snug on it too. A few test shots either end of the zoom range show no vignetting at all.Very happy indeed with the product.

Works fine, didn't need to track down an expensive vintage hood for a lens.

Came quickly and is better quality than my original hood! Plus it's half the size of original hood which makes it even better!!

This was one of the few lens hoods that I found for 95mm threads. It is nice and sturdy and it feels like good metal (I think it is aluminum). Its got a little weight to it (but not too much). That is a plus for me because it gives the lens more stability when taking pictures in windy places (something which I usually do) and it makes my lens a bit more aerodynamic (unless the wind is coming from straight ahead). My suggestion for you: buy it and try it out. If you use tripods it will remove some glare from your shot and stabilize your shot a bit more (especially if you are using it on non-stabilized lenses like I do).

Tighter and slightly shorter and tighter in diameter than the plastic hood that comes with this wonderful lens. For $20 you get a screw on, rock solid metal lens hood. I still have the hood that came with the 200-500mm f5.6 I got from NikonUSA. If you want to buy it, let me know.

Made of metal, shorter than the original which makes it more functional, less invasive and more robust

I know that's not a word, but it should be.My Nikon 200-500 came with a huge plastic hood, which is very impressive looking when coupled to the end of that large lens. The OEM hood reverses for storage, but it's large diameter takes up a lot of room in a bag or a backpack. This Ace Select Screw in Hood provided the packing solution I needed, and made my lens ready to shoot without having to reverse a cumbersome hood. The now fits in my bag and backpack with the hood in place. It is less obtrusive, still does the job of a hood, and also provides solid protection for the front of the lens, as it is metal and is securely screwed to the lens. Great price Too!

Ordered this twice. First time the anti-reflective felt lining on the inside of the hood was peeling off. The adhesive is not very strong. The second one I received had the same issue plus it had several dings in the metal.

My Tamron did not fit in my camera backpack with the hood attached forward, and the hood was difficult to align when reversing. With this hood, I leave it permanently attached. This hood is shorter and has a smaller diameter than the Tamron hood, and gives the lens a much smaller profile (nice when you don't want to attract as much attention). So far I have not noticed any vignetting (although I seldom shoot at 150mm). The depth seems sufficient to block most glare from the sun unless you're shooting into the sun. This hood is metal with black felt lining, and seems like a high quality hood.Only Con: It doesn't thread 100% smoothly with the Tamron threads, but neither do filters, so I believe Tamron's threads are slightly different than universal threads. I was able to thread it in 5-6 threads deep without feeling like I'd strip the threads, and it tightens down at that depth, which does feel sufficient to make a firm attachment. This hood threads much more cleanly to the front of a UV filter, again, I believe the threads of my lens are the odd ball, not the hood.
