The potential is there. It sinks up well with ecowitt ecosystem. Just disappointed in 1. It does not come with standard Hose thread as every other product of this type does. I spent an additional $12 on adapters. 2. As you can see from the picture it leaks from its not attachment to thr box itself. Is there an adjustment? If not I will be returning the product.

Be sure to install included washer at water inlet or else it will leak at the swivel.Flaw but not a deal breaker is that you need adapters to convert from npt threading to garden hose threading on both sides. These will need thread tape too.The Eco Witt soil moisture sensors are great, and the app allows a lot of flexibility in creating watering schedules, but the overall product ecosystem could use some refinement to make it more intuitive and user friendly.

This works great with our ecowitt soil moisture settings. We have four of these in different gardens. We also have this programmed to torn off under 40 degrees to avoid freezing. We could also program on our rain sensor, but that's not really needed with the soil moisture sensors.My only comments to Ecowitt are;Supply a non-battery power supply plug on the back so it can be plugged into a wall socket.Change the pipe size to 3/4" US hose Bib thread with the kit.

Surprisingly solid unit, works well and reports properly back to the app. Homeassistant support via HACS exists now (ecowitt_iot).Can’t speak to battery life yet, but good so far. Water measurement is surprisingly useful, so you can specify a dose and limit your wastage.Mounting unit is also solid, and an extra nut helps secure the unit to the mount so casual theft should be discouraged effectively.3/4 and 1/2 BSP top fitting, so be aware it might not fit those NSW 1” garden taps (you need another adapter). 1/2” BSP out the bottom which you might need to bulk up with another adapter to fit as well, or a trip to the green shed to find the bits.
