We seem to go through at least one can opener a year, whether electric or manual, so I've been stocking up on a variety of them to see which ones will last the longest as well as be easy to use when the arthritis is acting up.I like that, unlike our traditional electric can openers, this just rotates around the can instead of supporting the can and turning it while suspended in air. I like that it does the "safety" version of opening the can so when you handle the lid there are no sharp edges. I also like the magnet that lifts the lid for you, making it easier to handle. For the price, I would think this would come with batteries. It would also be nice to do away with replaceable batteries and just have it rechargeable so there was no need to take off the battery cover, because it's a bit flimsy.I am also wonder why you have to press the button once rotation is done, instead of it just stopping on its own like others we've had similar to this.Possibly my biggest issue is how slowly this operates. A 30oz can of refried beans, for example, takes over one minute for this to do a full rotation. Even on a day when the arthritis is flaring up, I can open the can faster with a manual can opener. And with the noises it makes while grunting and grinding through that one can, it doesn't sound like it's going to last very long.I'd do 2.5 stars if I could. I will come back and update if it dies, but that probably won't happen soon because we'll probably only use it if all the others die first.Thank you for reading, I hope it was helpful.

I am finding this can opener to be easy to use. I have not had to use it often, but for the times that I needed to, I haven't had any issues. The speed of it is on the slower side, but it still gets the job done. I wish it would have came with batteries, to make it more convenient for the buyer.

Works great. Not good on large cans but helps my elderly dad out.

Works great! I have had one before and missed it. I know this is crazy but funny to me..I keep the cans after cleaning them and reattach labels. Put in a gift and seal the lead back with a few dots of super glue. Kids especially give you a "your kidding, you've gone off the deep end" look. What tomato paste or corn for Christmas, Birthday? I give them this opener and make them open it, the the laughter starts! So not only is it so great and does a great job opening cans without sharp edges..its fun as well. Perhaps I am a little crazy after all..dont tell anyone!

The blade doesn’t reach the run of the lid of the cans so it doesn’t open the lids like advertised. There is also no way to adjust the height of the blade. It didn’t work. I tried opening a dog food can and as you can see in the pic with the markings it doesn’t reach the lid. I had to manually open it.
