i attached the opener to a standard-sized, 15oz can as instructed, pushed the black button, it started grinding...but not moving. i gently assisted it around the can 3 or 4 times and some parts of the lid were now severed but much was still attached. i assisted the opener 7 or 8 more times around before the lid was opened enough that i could pull it off with a plyers. (at no point did was the can opener able to make it around the can unassisted.i set the opener (with the lid still attached and spinning) on the counter. the opener continued to rotate the lid for several minutes...until i was able to remove the cover to remove the batteries. (pressing and holding the black button did nothing to stop the opener from grinding.)this item should be listed in the 'novelty & gag gifts' section of amazon rather than 'home & kitchen.'

This electric can opener has been a great addition to my kitchen! It opens cans effortlessly and the magnetic lid holder is brilliant. I love how quiet it operates compared to other models. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that it occasionally struggles with extra-thick cans (like some pet food containers). For regular soup/vegetable cans, it works flawlessly. Cleaning is a breeze and the compact design saves space. Definitely recommend, especially for seniors or those with limited hand mobility!

This electric can opener has been a reliable kitchen helper for the past month! It opens standard cans like a dream—smooth, quick, and completely hands-free. I especially love the magnetic lid feature (no more digging for lids!) and how quiet it is compared to other models.

Purchased this for my 80-year-old mother who was struggling with traditional can openers. She can now open cans independently with just one hand!
