Well I knew this would be overkill because I had purchased a cattle prod for the neighbors annoying dogs. This Red Sizzle is worth the money if you have aggressive dogs bothering your dogs. They have aggressive Pitbulls and they also have a fence but they would dig underneath to fight my dogs quite frequently so I put them on notice that I would take necessary action up to and including bear spraying there dogs. All it took was 1 attempt by there dogs and they both got popped so hard they were yelping and running back to there garage where they lay during the day. It is worth every penny! There dogs now come out and they wont come near the fence at all 🤣🤣🤣🤣 It is very simple to set up and make sure you have good size wire 16gauge aluminum , insulators and grounding rod 6ft -8ft long to get a good ground.

Buyer Beware...Buyer Beware:Don't expect your purchase of this unit to last for too long. Redstone Supply (manufacturer) claims that this fence charger is warranted for 3-years. Good luck trying to get them to actually uphold this and rightfully respond to any warranty claim for return or exchange. My unit lasted for 7 months before severely malfunctioning. Contact was initiated with Redstone Supply sales and service groups, but unfortunately not much credibility with regards to customer support nor service. You might get a generic and cryptic email response from them if you can wait for weeks, then nothing else. Best bet is to find yourself another product brand, as I'm doubtful they will ever truly honor their purported warranty period and provide me with a proper replacement. Not even worth the single star rating and definitely no value for the money spent. Severely disappointed with this item.

I ran one strand for about 1 mile and was able to keep 25 head in no problem. It was funny the first day when they went to check it out it took one time and that was enough.

We have 2 large pitbulls and large bully but like a tree stump. We had new owners buy the house next door and they also have pitbulls that are very aggressive. They chewed through our privacy fence and our 93lb female bully busted through and lit one of them up. They were understanding and but we both needed something needed to be done to prevent future incident. We put up 1/2" plywood sheets to strengthen the fence but their dogs always jumping and biting on fence agitating ours. We had to do something just to get peace and prevent another fence incident. So I looked and researched these and wanted to get one strong enough for our big dogs. The Red Sizzle looked like it fit the bill! Install took about 2 hours to do a 90 foot privacy fence running the wire, insulators and grounding it. I hated to do it but all it took was once pop with two of the dogs. Pop, yelp jump about 3 foot into the air and they wont get within 12 inches of the fence anymore, It wasn't funny and had to console each dog when it happened BUT it worked and worked good. The 93lb female took about 4 pops (she's not real bright) but for the most part has worked. It tears me up to have had to to do this but now I dont even plug the fence in anymore. The Red Sizzle very strong 6.5 joules. If you are forced to have to resort to using a stronger deterrent rest assured this will work on any dog any size. It will light them up and make a loud pop. Now if only our neighbor would but one! Dont touch it this thing doesn't play!

This unit has a lot more joules then my previous unit. I would not want to be the deer that decides to test it with my nose. It left a small welt on my son. Quite a lot of power so it should be able to handle the rabbits, and groundhogs, and deer that might test it. They do say it is not rain proof, this is a shame as these items are almost always installed outdoors. I have mine under a bucket to keep it completely dry. We will see how that works out.

Really packs a wallop. Very easy to setup.I have a lot of wildlife including wild turkeys I wanted to keep out of my back yard. While is states it works for poultry, It does not work for the turkeys. They just walk thru it. It will spark almost 1/2 inch, but the insulating properties of the thick feathers prevent the turkeys from being deterred. For our four legged friends, it works very well. I like the indicator lights displaying the power and letting you know if there is a short on the fence.Overall: A potent charger and very effective on animal control (Excluding wild turkeys). A great value!
