I was unable to use this product as a bar of polishing compound for application to a rotating polishing wheel. It does not adhere to the polishing wheel and instead flings dried pieces of the product in all directions. I found no oils or solvents that would soften the bar sufficiently for application of the product the buffing wheel. I bought only the blue bar. I'm not sure if the other colored polishing bars from this manufacturer perform similarly.

After I finished polishing and put my dash back together I could hardly tell there was a piece of plastic in front of me. Im amaized, I cant say anything about how good it is on metals or anything else

I requested the ENKAY - Blue Extra Fine All-Purpose Polishing Compound for my husband who restores vintage straight razors. His first polish with the blue compound was very successful, resolving a few superficial scratches on the blade that were created in the sharpening process. The compound also works well to 'shine up' the plastic scales (handles). My husband is quite pleased with the product and his results.

If you sharpen you edges to very high grits, 3000 grit or higher, then this is what should be used as a strop compound instead of green or red. Especially when being used as the final step in honing the edge to clean up the burr. Green is fine for maintaining used edges for most people that go to 600 to 2000 grit edges. I'm talking about the people that go to a near mirror or mirrored finish and then want to maintain that edge by stroping it at the end of each day. That's what this is excellent for. I've learned this from years of experience sharpening and using green as my only compound, it felt like a step backwards at a certain point. The blue doesn't feel like that and I take my edges to 14000 grit now (or .5 micron or 1 micron maybe, can't remember the conversion).
