The cases are great. The needles cannot be threaded without shredding the thread.

I love these for storing my needles I love that the top screws on instead of sliding on, however when I did use the needles the eye broke off so not a fan of the self-threading needles. However, I really didn't buy them for the needles I love the containers I love the different colors on them because I keep my yarn needles in one and sewing needles in another
